1983 - Remember When?

On the heels of the tragic story of Joe Delaney, which occurred in 1983 and I had no clue about it, I've stumbled across another story from 1983 - this one funny, and I remember it well, since I was only 11 at the time. I learned quite a lot, actually, from listening to Lee Elia that April day, much of which I continue to utilize on a daily basis (not in front of the kids of course!):

Transcript of Lee Elia's Tirade

I think somebody posted a link to the audio file a while back, which was the first time i'd ever heard of it or heard it. Hilarious stuff.

Yeah, that kinda puts a different spin on the lovefest everyone had (or still has) for day baseball in Chicago.
