Kabul Bombing Kills at Least 80, Shaking City Center - New York Times

A truck bombing near the Afghan presidential palace early Wednesday killed at least 80 people and wounded hundreds, officials said. The death toll seemed certain to rise, and the attack appeared to be one of the bloodiest of the long Afghan war.

It seems that the Taliban have said they are not responsible. Possibly some ISIS splinter groups (IIRC, they are at war with the government and the Taliban), though they haven't claimed responsibility either.

This is especially galling during the first week of Ramadan (maybe why no one wants to claim responsibility too soon).

It's also kind of depressing that we've been in Afghanistan for 16 years and we have little to show for it.
