Pray for my cousin(her husband was shot in the line of duty)

Trooper Killed Responding To Domestic Dispute - News Story - WPXI Pittsburgh

Quote:
CRANBERRY, Pa. -- State police in Cranberry Township, Venango County, have blocked off the rural road where a state trooper was shot and killed, and dozens of police cars have rushed to the area.

Reporter Amy Marcinkiewicz learned from police that the situation started as a domestic dispute followed by a shootout at a home early Wednesday afternoon. The home is located along Bradensburg Road in a heavily-wooded area, where other homes are spread far apart.

The officer, whose name has not yet been released, died from his injuries, family members and police confirmed with Channel 11 News. The trooper had been a part of the force since 1993.

Dozens of marked and undercover police cruisers can be seen lining a stretch of road near the shooting scene. State police told Channel 11 News the suspect is currently unaccounted for.

Officials, including the city of Pittsburgh SWAT team continue to search for the suspect in the surrounding area. Police said, for now, the scene is not safe.

Police aren't confirming whether it's a hostage situation.

No other information has been released at this time.

Stay with Channel 11 News and WPXI.com for updates.

The name of the fallen officer has not been revealed yet, but I just got a call a bit ago that it was my Cousin Carrie's husband.

I will pray for her. I recently had a friend who's husband was killed tragically in a freak car accident. They are both in their mid 30's and have two beautiful daughters. As I was reading my bible and praying for them the day it happened I came across the following verse that seemed to be a big help to my friend at the time. I can't imagine experiencing the tragedy these two young ladies have experienced but this verse reminds me that God is always with me.

Isaiah 41:13 - For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.

I remember going to their wedding when I was in high school. I haven't seen much of them over the past several years. I believe they have at least 2 kids. She's about 38, this is going to be rough.

Horrible news, domestic disputes are typically the most dangerous for an officer to be involved with.

So as more details emerge I'm getting angry at the unnecessary loss of life here. The cop killer had apparently killed his wife at some point in the last couple days. The cops were doing a wellness check on the woman who hadn't been to work. Anyways this asshole shot Paul as he was getting out of his cruiser.

My best friend is a cop and gets called to them often, scares the hell out of me in retrospect.

So final update for now. The twat apparently killed himself shortly after killing Paul from long distance. All flags will be at half mast for 7 days. Just a waste this Michael smith was.
