Antmeister71's Fantastic Freeware

Well after getting a little frustrated locating something I had written in the freeware thread, I decided to compile all of the links and place them on a web page. This new page is now categorized and all new links are highlighted in red text. I already had to drop a few from the previous freeware thread because some of them don't exist or they became shareware. In the future, I will continue to update this thread with any new links that I have found.

Anyways enjoy.

Antmeister71's Fantastic Freeware

Very, very nice! We just bought a digital camera yesterday (long time coming, but our DV camcorder took pictures too), so these links will come in handy. Thanks!

Great work, Ant!
By the way, I ran across this today via The Daily Gadget, maybe you'd include a link to it or something if you think it's as useful as I think it has potential to be.

Props to Unlocker. Saved my bo-bo today.

And from the 46 most useful freeware programs list...I HIGHLY recommend Slickrunner. Being able to launch multiple browsers with a single word is a nice thing, especially when you test web applications for a living.

I used to play it a lot with my group Prickly Heat. I since stopped playing when you had a number of server issues, but I think it can still be a great game if you continue to update it. But I can't knock someone who is giving out free entertainment and it actually should have been on the list a long time ago. Just keep pluggin away at it.

FREEWARE SPOTLIGHT:

COPERNIC DESKTOP SEARCH

After using this software a lot more in the last few days, I have to recommend this to anyone who frequently searches through files on their computer.

What makes this software unique is the ability to sort through emails, bookmarks, images, documents, pictures, music and other files in a matter of seconds. No joke. The search box rests in your task bar as seen in the picture below.

It does this by first indexing all the files on your hard drive, so you will have to wait for it to go through all of your files. But after that, you can type in partial to full text and see your results. What is also cool is that you can view all these files in its browser which means you don't have to open up external software to see what it is.

Just give this software a try.

Hey Ant, how invasive and bloated is that Copernic program, I tried the Google one, and I am still paying for using it on my PC, Google page still takes too long to load, and I don't have the heart to go in and fix it in the guts of my PC.

I would love having something like this, but man I hate having my PC hijacked with bloatware or spyware inside a great sounding program like this one. Ideas?

This program doesn't have any type of bloatware/spyware/adware at all. I have it on two PCs right now (Dodgerchick's and mines) and it works wonders. I don't even use windows search functions anymore because it is way slower. So the answer your question, you have nothing to worry about in regards to this.
