Talk about a stud pitcher (ITP)
Sorry, usually don't post numbers from games but this was just too insane to pass up.
For some reason I decided to fire up an ITP career. I came across this pitcher (not my player, my player's numbers fall well short-- but they aren't bad) who had one hell of a hall of fame career. I'll work on posting the actual player page tommorrow. Miguel Garcia Career Numbers Games: 513 Starts: 487 Record: 297-106 Saves: 1 ERA: 2.63 IP: 3850.1 H: 3310 BB: 784 K: 2313 CG; 191 Sho: 73 He had 8 consecutive 20+ win seasons and a stretch of 10 out of 11 seasons with at least 19 wins. 4 of those seasons he had an ERA under 2.00. His best season was 29-2 with a 1.80 ERA. Went over 300 IP 6 times in a 9 season span. In his 8 year 20+ win seasons he had the following CG totals: 17, 19, 16, 18, 24, 21, 18 and 19. In those 8 seasons his shutout totals were: 7, 9, 5, 7, 9, 6, 7 and 8. Named to all-star team 8 times. 4 time pitcher of the week. 15 time pitcher of the month. 7 Cy Young awards. 4 World championships. 1 no hitter. Led the league in ERA 8 times in a 9 season span, including 7 straight (2nd the time he didn;t lead, and the season before that stretch). Led the league in lowest base runners per inning 6 times. Led the league in wins 6 times. Led the league in innings pitched 7 times. Led the league in complete games 8 times. Led theleague in shutuots 8 times. He didn't slack off in the post season either as his career numbers were: Games: 29 Starts: 29 Record: 18-8 ERA: 2.15 IP: 225.2 H: 170 BB: 43 K: 117 CG: 16 Sho: 7 One out of every 4 of his post season starts were shutouts, that's insane. Oh, and a Hall of Fame selection. |

I wonder how many fights he won with Steve Kuffrey.

I was disappointed in the game ITP (Inside the Park, i.e. you take the role of a young draftchoice in an OOTP-universe and play your way up), but the game has produced one of the most excellent (Bill & Ted) dynasties I've ever read on any of the boards I frequent.
