ING Direct question

I thought I remembered ING Direct's savings accounts having a "referral" deal where you could refer someone else and both get bonuses. Are they still (did they ever) doing this?

Yup. $10 for the referrer, and $25 for the person who is referred (given a $250 min deposit). Heck, send me an Pm with your email, and I'll send you one.

TIA

If someone would like to send me a referral for Ing Direct. Contact me via PM and I'll give you my email addy.

My wife and I need an account to put our tax money to the side with our new business.

Also if someone can point me to the online banking / savings thread we had awhile back that someone listed the different ones and what they offer. I'm trying to find something like that online (checking fool.com right now)...

Still researching who we are going to use. I'd like the account accessible from our Quicken business, so I'll find out tonight, and plus would like the rate to be good .

Sweet - 2 second advantage!

Check out the thread at FatWallet - can't find it, but if you look in the finance forum there should be a large thread. I like ING and I'm willing to sacrifice a little for it (5.3% vs 5.35%) - so I stick with it.

ING Direct does go into Quicken fwiw, but not via direct connect.

Well the bank we use for the business (UBOC) is supposed to work on Quicken, but can't do it via direct connect so I have to download it manually. I'm used to that one already!

Mainly we are just looking for a good APR account to invest the money that we will be giving to the Feds at the end of the year as it just sits there and waits to be paid out to them. 1% savings accounts aren't really worth it, so the 5% you can get from a Money Market sounds more appealing, with still having the ability of getting to the money fairly simple.

Then next year we got to work on having money go into a IRA so my wife can start saving some retirement money as well (but not this year, we got to much other stuff going on).

I ended up going with FNBO with the money market account. They seem to have pretty good reviews. So we shall see. I will report back later.
