Authentic New York pizza is only good if it's greasy, cheesy and foldable, and since most of that is cheap and shit, that's a pretty good definition of authentic NY pizza.

MM is great. We have one close by. It has outdoor seating but we've been ordering pickup. More expensive than Papa John's but comes close after I pay for Papa John's delivery and tip.

I play the mental game. Same cost just as long as I go pick it up.

More expensive, but the taste makes it worth it. Johnny's Pizza is also good for a chain. It is "New York" style, and that is probably more like it. The place on the corner, every pizza all you taste is basil. It just absolutely kills your taste buds. They do have some tasty meat pies, but super messy.

Thanks for the tip. I've never had Johnny's Pizza but see a couple around me. Have to check it out.

I love Johnny's lasagna as well. It is a great place ( as well as MM) to grab a quick slice for lunch.

My oldest nephew just moved into college about 10 minutes away. We told him if he needs anything just let us know.

Evidently this weekend my daughter (12) texted him to say he can come over whenever he wants. She said it was so he doesn't get lonely.

I didn't cry, you just cried.

I thought OnlyFans was a 100% porn site.

I've never been, and I've only ever seen it referenced as such.

I do not know what their business is actually supposed to be.

Originally for stars to allow fans to have more access to them, and for the "stars" to be able to put out more content that they could monetize.

Ended up being pornified real quick though

Yeah, but the celebs didn't start using it until the adult industry had given it the exposure and legitimacy. Then the celebs came in and drew so much attention by being on 'onlyfans' (as in it's risque and you might get 'full' access' that OF decided that it could only grow as that sort of a vehicle if it cratered the adult side. Plus, they had said they would never do what they just did. They had publicly stated that they would always be supportive of the adult side of it. So I think that's a big reason why so many are rightfully irritated with it.

Was afraid it was going to be more marketing hype than a good chair, but my new Secret Lab chair came in today. Now, I am notorious for destroying chairs, and all the more neutral reviews I read praised the build quality on these things, hence the reason I pulled the trigger.

Which, they're right. Feels extremely sturdy, quality packaging, took like 15 minutes to build by myself. Cushions are indeed very firm, but the lumbar support is good (not great, but good)...not unhappy with it at first blush.

I spent all weekend looking at chairs. I've got a Herman Miller Mirra which I've been using for over a decade. Nice chair but the plastic back isn't that comfortable and I was kind of looking for something bigger and with more cushion.

Any recommendations from Secret Lab in your research? Is there a certain type I should be looking at?

I'm 6 feet, 190-200 pounds, but was sort of thining of going with the XL for added comfort. Also figure the higher weight capacity might mean better build quality.

Yeah, I'm not exactly small. 6'1, about 230 (yes, I need to lose weight).

I got the new model XL. Glad I did, 'cause a lot of my research said their size ranges are geared towards the lower end. Plenty of room. Smaller size i think woulda been too small.

I will say, if you want softer cushion, the Secret Labs are absolutely NOT for you. From what I've read, they do start to give more later down the road, but no one would sit in these and say, "Wow, soft." I'm tempted to get some sorta cushion for it.

As far as back support and overall sturdiness, granted, my ass has been in it for about an hour and a half, but it feels pretty good there.

My eyelids have been having a really irritating itch right along my eyelashes. It usually happens late at night when I am tired. My wife said that it probably is dust or dirt getting where you usually don't put soap right at your eye, and she said that her office usually recommends baby shampoo to alleviate the problem. Just took a shower and saw she had gotten me some to use, so I did....

Smells unlock memories. That smell took me back to when my kids were little. The squeaks of joy as they ran giggling to be chased and put in the bathtub. The splashing and laughing and the bubble beards. The little cloth robe with a hood that had the duck face. The after-bath cuddle of a sleepy child...
No More Tears my ass.

I've been sitting on a mesh seat with the plastic back so any cushion at all will feel like a step up. I mainly want something with a headrest.

Did you do the faux leather or fabric? They have too many options!

Thanks for the sizing help. Definitely would rather have a chair that is too big than too small.

Smells and sounds, both, to me - they seem to unlock things seemingly long gone

The headrest on this thing is actually a magnetically attached gel foam pillow, which is extremely comfy. I wish it were a little bigger, so I could make contact on it without tilting my head so far back, but it's nice.

Since my old chair broke and I needed a new chair asap, I ordered the first of the available new models (the 2022 series) - the one with the new "hybrid leatherette". I'm neutral on it. I prolly woulda gone for the fabric one if it shipped earlier.

Restaurants get them like crazy...when I was with OG we would get huge deliveries of milk, heavy cream, half-and-half, etc in them multiple times per week. I'm sure grocery and convenience stores get them as well.

Smells like BS to me. Unless there was really an agreement to hide the genitals, seems like a money grab to me.

'Nevermind' cover baby Spencer Elden sues Nirvana over 'child pornography'
Quote:
The naked baby photographed on Nirvana’s breakthrough album “Nevermind” is now accusing the band of being child pornographers, claiming they told him to “Come As You Are” without consent.

Spencer Eldon, now 30, filed a lawsuit against Kurt Cobain’s estate and the band’s surviving members, saying the grunge pioneers violated federal child pornography statutes and sexually exploited him.

Eldon also said he has suffered “lifelong damage” from having his naked body plastered on the triple-diamond selling album, and claims neither he nor his guardians consented to the naked photoshoot, according to the federal suit.

The band, photographer, and record labels “intentionally marketed Spencer’s child pornography and leveraged the shocking nature of his image to promote themselves and their music at his expense,” the suit alleges
:
The plaintiff, who was four months old at the time of the 1991 underwater photoshoot, also claims he was forced to engage in “commercial sex acts,” and that the band went back on an alleged promise to conceal his genitals on the album cover.
:
The infant’s family was only paid $200 for the 15-second plunge in the pool, which only happened because Elden’s dad was a friend of the photographer, according to a 2008 NPR report.

I can't verify, but someone posted about this and said this dude has recreated that pose 4 times since 2001 and the last time had to be talked out of posing nude. Plus, he has Nevermind tattooed across his chest. Good luck with that lawsuit.

So, I'm watching BUtterfield 8. Liz Taylor, 28 or so. Attractive, yes. But...I'm not quite getting why she was Liz Taylor, you know? Was it because of how she looked at 18? (15??)

This will sound crazy, but I was much more taken with Shirley MacLaine from a year later.

How about at .... 12?

Seriously. Check this snippet I found on Wiki

National Velvet became a box-office success upon its release on Christmas 1944.[1]:40–47 Bosley Crowther of The New York Times stated that "her whole manner in this picture is one of refreshing grace",[11] while James Agee of The Nation wrote that she "is rapturously beautiful... I hardly know or care whether she can act or not."[12]

But I kinda get what you're saying regardless. Her beauty -- and I really am talking about her face here -- peaked VERY early. I found a pic from when she was 23 and as she matured what made her looks so remarkable were already changing. She started trending into (better but still) Joan Collins by that point already.

Yeah, I wasn't quite sure it was as early as that, but I knew there was a little, eh, skeeviness going on there.

And yes, it was in her face. Now, I guess she had somewhat of a near-death encounter not long before BU8, maybe that had something to do with it. But she seemed to carry more weight in her face; just a touch in the jowls, and there was a bit of a slope from her chin to her neck (and her neck itself seemed...sloped? Triangular?). Her body (and here I mean mostly her chest, really) was nice, but, well, perhaps we're spoiled these days.

Now that one, that one I totally get.

I have her right at the front of the discussion of the most beautiful on-screen in history.

Aside from her face, she fits poorly into most of the traits I find most attractive but her on screen is one of the most captivating things I've ever seen.

It's possible I've just not seen her on film enough. Charade a few months ago might be it, actually, other than clips here or there or the any number of stills. I think I have My Fair Lady somewhere on the DVR, will have to get to it soon.

Ingrid Bergman is my old-timey actress of choice. Casablanca started a fascination with her for a while in the 90s.

Did Reynolds change their nonstick foil in the last year. It's like half as many mils thick as it was before but I can't find any confirmation online

And the cling wrap has that useless slider that makes you use twice as much because it can't do a good cut. I KNOW YOU DID THAT ON PURPOSE, YOU JERKS!

So...10-12 months later, and the USPS still sucks. I ordered something that got shipped on the 25th. It was supposed to be here today so I checked the routing details and boy did I get more than I bargained for.

It originated in Marlboro, NJ on the 25th and got processed through Newark on the 26th. From there it arrived in Lexington on the 27th. For some reason, it then was sent to Evansville, IN where I show about 8 separate tracking entries of it arriving/departing until it finally arrived in Louisville at 6am on the 28th (today). From there it got sent back to Lexington and was processed at 1pm.

Now, the package arriving today is not a big deal. But WTF is the USPS doing?

Hopefully they don't do the new trick I've been getting all week and leave it in the driveway closer to the street than to the house.

We had a similar issue last week with a package posted in the LA area ending up in Northern California before making it down here about 2-3 after the expected delivery date. Wonder if somebody rolled out a bug in a system somewhere, although I guess it’s more likely just random incompetence.

We finally bought the new Coke Zero and my wife hates it. She says it tastes like Diet Coke. I'm kinda on the fence but I think the aftertaste is the Diet Coke-y part.

Interesting experiment. Hard to believe this will work but it just might ...

Beijing to bar weekday videogame play among school-aged Chinese - MarketWatch
Quote:
China has a new rule for the country’s hundreds of millions of young gamers: No videogames during the school week, and one hour a day on Fridays, weekends and public holidays.

China on Monday issued strict new measures aimed at curbing what authorities describe as youth videogame addiction, which they blame for a host of societal ills, including distracting young people from school and family responsibilities.

The new regulation, announced by the National Press and Publication Administration, will ban minors from playing videogames entirely between Monday and Thursday. On the other three days of the week, and on public holidays, they will be only permitted to play between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

The announcement didn’t offer a specific age for minors, but previous regulations targeting younger videogamers have drawn the line at 18 years old.

I pretty much have gotten used to it. Yes, I have no backbone.
