B.o.B. and Conspiracy Theories

A rapper I had never heard of (this is not shocking) has gotten a lot of attention in the last day or two for declaring that the world is indeed flat (and everything that goes along with that).

He's gotten into a twitter war with Neil deGrasse Tyson, for whom I imagine this is like watching a kitten bat around a ball of yarn.

Thought it was worth starting a thread for following this saga as well as general discussion on your favorite conspiracy theories.

In high school, I got pretty into the Kennedy assassination, but now I'm pretty convinced it was just LHO. That's probably as close as I've gotten to being a conspiracy buff. My current personal favorite though is that Stevie Wonder can see.

So, multi-part question...
who is B.o.B?
is the earth flat?
what's your favorite conspiracy theory?
what conspiracy theory do you actually believe?

This could make for a good Conan-type skit where Stevie is with Conan and starts doing a lot of suspicious activities. Conan keeps defending Stevie that he is, of course, blind. But behind Conan's back Stevie is saving Conan from ninjas and Joe Pesci and using microscopes to cure cancer.

B.o.B is best known for being on that song about airplanes, which is maybe sorta ironic now. You can count me as a believer in the brand-new "This is some stunt to publicize a new song/album and Neil deGrasse Tyson is possibly in on it too" conspiracy theory.

I always have a soft spot for any Ancient Aliens conspiracies, and I was hoping that when Ben Carson was talking about the pyramids being used to store grain there was going to be an extraterrestrial tie-in.

I don't know if it's a conspiracy theory, but I am 100% convinced that Area 51 is (and maybe always was) a very clever honeypot.

Here is my new conspiracy theory I recently thought up.

Obama lifts the sanctions on Iran in a trade with the Saudis. The Saudis wanted this so they can escalate their religious "war" against Iran. Sunni vs. Shite. The Saudis want to exert their pressure in the Middle East and put down Iran. For the lifting of these sanctions, the Saudis have flooded the market with oil. Thus gas prices have plummeted. Propping up the US economy and making the Dems look good for the upcoming election season. I forgot to add, that by lifting the sanctions, Iran will get more frisky with the influx of cash coming their way. Iran will exert their will on neighboring countries. This allows the Saudis to stand up to them and look like the good guys.

Just my theory.

I would have thought the song he did with Bruno Mars would have been more popular, but YouTube views says I'm wrong. "Nothin' On You" feat. Bruno Mars has 168 mil and Airplanes feat. Hayley Williams is at 306 mil.

He' Bobby Ray. Always says it in his songs.

Have you not seen Bobby's pics? Just waiting for Tyson to respond with his own diss track after Flatline was just dropped on him.

Favorite and actually believe are the same. Jordan being suspended for gambling and his father being murdered for not paying the debts because he was Jordan and didn't take shit from anyone.

Possibility? I thought everyone knew that at the time since it was obvious (it was strongly speculated by the media leading up to the "retirement"). Didn't realize that it went into the conspiracy realm. Hmm.

I remember chuck klosterman talking about some theory that this is actually about the middle of the 18th century because record keeping was obviously iffy and sometimes kings elected to advance the calendar to coincide with the next round number.

Anyone know what this theory is called?

I recall some kings, especially in the Middle Ages, screwed around with calendars for various (usually not good) reasons, but didn't think it persisted up through the 18th century.

It didn't actually go on that late. What I mean is that instead of it being a whole 2016 years since the count started, it may be 1700-1900 years since the count started

I'm still a Kennedy Assassination truther. I absolutely believe there is crucial evidence not yet provided, otherwise all of the JFK documents would have been released. We still have to wait until at least 2029 to get the rest of the House Select Committee on Assassinations documents.

I do follow ancient alien theories, mostly for amusement. It does seem to me that our ancestors did things they shouldn't have been able to do, and there is too much consistency in world religions and mythologies for there not to be common threads we don't yet understand.

I'm tolerant of most conspiracy theories but if you are a moon landing hoaxer, Obama birther, 9-11 truther, anti-vaxxer or flat earther, I want to punch you.

Sadly, chemtrails are getting a bit of a bump in the news today. Apparently Prince said something about the subject some years ago, and the giant chemtrail illuminati just caught up with him, after getting Merle Haggard.
