Firework Displays

Where's the innovation at? Every year, same old shit. Boom, pop, wow, that's pretty. And don't forget the huge grand finale.

In the past they've tried pop, that's pretty, wow, boom, but it didn't work out nearly so well.

What do you expect? It's fireworks! That's like saying where's the innovation in football? 11 guys, four downs, 100 yards between the endzones. Why doesn't someone create a game where we can change all that stuff? Anyway, maximum football joke aside, it sounds like you're watching fireworks, and hoping to see something different from what fireworks are.

Someone call China and tell them that 2000 year old invention they have needs some work since they aren't as flashy to the masses as they once were

I understand where he's coming from. I mean wouldn't it kick ass to see the grand finale end in a firework that upon explosion spells out "Happy Independence Day Everyone - Drive Home Safely and Courteously - Don't Drink and Drive"?

No, everyone's all like "you gotta see the fireworks" don't miss them, etc etc. Get there early to get a good parking spot and a great view. You get that vibe from people that they are going to be new and exciting or something, maybe they will play some Foreigner in the background for some extra special display. But you still get stuck with the same old boom, pop, wow, that's pretty every year.

Why are people doing fireworks now? Is there something special about June 25 that I don't know?

At West Point every year the band plays music to the fireworks and concludes with the 1812 Overture complete with cannons. It's pretty cool.

Maybe the problem is you're going to watch fireworks with Foreigner playing in the background, all of the great firework shows play Journey.

I think we may not have even fireworks here, for fear that the entire state will burst into flames.

I always figured the fireworks were our nation's way to honor one of the most important dates in history.

That being my wedding anniversary, of course.

You can, but if you want to be good to yourself, you'll watch the lights with Journey.
