NCAA March Madness - 360 DLC
For $15 I decided to download this standalone EA bball game and the free 09 bracket pack.
I'll check it out this weekend and see what I can do with Missouri. Anyone else try this? |

I'm confused. What is it? Is it the full EA game that sold in stores for $60 or is it a stripped version for the tournament?

It's a stripped version of the game that is only 15 dollars. It has "updated rosters" that are supposed to be current as teams enter the tourney and uses the same game engine as the full game. However, this version has no season play. It is only a tourney play game with the seedings from real life this year. I was slightly tempted by it, then I realized I'd just rather play College Hoops 2k8.

Is NCAA Basketball 09 needed to get this game?

No, but if you have NCAA Basketball 09, there is very little reason to buy it. It is a stand alone, stripped version of the game with "updated rosters."

I bought it because I just want to play through the tourney.. I'm not big on playing full season with any college bball game.

![]() Game has been a blast so far! Played a test game last night and I really had fun. Guess I'll start my tourney tonight with Mizzou! |

Pretty smart idea. I'll probably stick with College Hoops 2k, but if the reviews on this are pretty good from the board, I might just get the EA game next season. |

Same here. I seriously looked at their game this year, but just read too many problems (mainly on OS) to take the plunge on it, but this move increases exposure and may lead to more people taking a look at it next year. |

Was 2k8 that much better than 2k7? 8's like 15 bucks at Gamestop, but 7 is 5 dollars. Is there really that much better gameplay in 2k8?

Yeah, I've been having a blast with the download tourney-only game as well.

Assuming you are talking about College Hoops and not EA's game... yes, 2k8 does many things better. It's not light years better, but it is really worth the extra 10 bucks. Edit: And if you are talking about EA's March Madness, this is the first version that hasn't been a joke in many years.. make sure you get 09 not 08.

Beat Cornell by 19.. of course I'm a pussy and playing on varsity my first run through.
Alot of the baskets look canned, and some made shots don't seem like they would go in as often as they would IRL.. BUT... the game is fun and I love the presentation. The controls aren't as tight as I would like either.. worth the $15 though.. even if I only play through one tourney.. assuming I can beat Marquette though. |
