What PC game has spent the most time on your harddrive?
I am the first to admit that I have a relative short attention span. I usually spend about 8 hours on a video game before I become tired of playing it. But there have been a few exceptions to that. So what games have spent the most time on your Harddrive?
1. Quake 3 - Approx 2 years Hands down this game lasted that long. I think it was because of the mods. I played quite a bit of Weapons Factory Arena, and Urban Terror. I also was also a mapper for a mod called Proball. http://www.planetquake.com/proball We were actually mod of the month in PCGamer and my map was featured. I really enjoyed Q3 and I dont think anything will ever top this game. 2. Vice City Approx 6 months This was one of the few games I actually played through twice. The first time I just completed all the missions, but the next time through I went for 100% I loved being able to fire this game up for 10 minutes and take my anger out on some cops. 3. Hoyle Casino Approx 6 months I love the 2k4 version, before they went to full 3d. this was another game I could spend a few minutes playing 4. Civ3 Couple of months Probably the only strategy game that I played for any real length of time. 5. WW2 online a few months I played this game a few months, and it was the MMORPG I have ever payed for.

1. Sim City - Too Fucking Long
I come back to that game every few months when I get bored with whatever the hell I'm playing, and build cities like there's no tomorrow. 2. Major League Soccer Manager - 8 years on my computer I play this one at least every week for a few hours. Sure, its repetative and not too taxing, but its nice to come home to after a boring day of work. I've had 100 year careers. 3. CM 97/98 - since around 98 or 99 I like messing with the schoolboys in the game. |

If we are talking what "series" of games has been on my PC the longest, it would be OOTP... then probably EHM. Graphical games, it would probably be Tropico...

It's close for me between OOTP and FOF, both have been on my PC for years in various versions and have probably gotten the most playing time. I have also had Diamond Mind Baseball on my PC since about '97 but only play it for a local league that I am in and no solo.

Is there anyplace to d/l MLSM anymore? I bought it back in '95 or '96 but it is long gone now but I'd love to break it out again.

Civ 2 and Planescape: Torment have spent the most time on my harddrive. I haven't played Planescape in a few years, but I'm looking forward to playing it again when I get back home (particularly if the KOTOR2 patch hasn't come out.)

MLSM was freeware. World Soccer Manager was the one that you had to pay for. When I purchased my new computer, I e-mailed Dan and he sent me the game. I'll try to dig up his current e-mail. |

i credit MLSM and WoSoMan with getting me playing soccer "sims" on my computer, and thus introducing me to CM/FM. I used to have some awesome WoSoMan careers. Damn I miss that game...I want...I want!

It would be a tie between Solitaire and Minesweeper.
Oh? You meant games that you also play? Starcraft: I don't even know how long it's been on my computer...years. FOF: Don't play it any more, but played the various versions for years. |

Colonization. Had it on one of my old computers for years, then found the Windows compatible free version on the web a few years back and I'm still hanging onto it.

Civ 2 was probably there for like 6 years and Civ 3 has been there since it came out. Text based, OOTP 5 and 6 have been on there a collective 4 years.

Oh yeah, almost forget, the game that has spent the most time on my HD is Railroad Tycoon 2. I play it at least once every other month.

If this is a list "of all times", I'd say:
1) Dark Age of Camelot From release in November 2001 until December last year I played this game at least 5 days a week on average.. 2) FOF2k4 Been on my hard drive for one year now.. I wouldn't say I "play" it frequently, but since joining online leagues I check it at least daily. 3) Civ 3 Re-discovered this gem a few months ago and wow it's so addicting.. easily the most entertaing of all strategy-games I've played through the years.. sure.. sometimes you miss the faster pace of a RTS like WC or AoE, but I love how stable Civ 3 is.. there are no boring parts to it and it's always fun even if you don't end "on top" in 2050 (or is it 2030?). I'd love to get my hands on SMAC but I can't find it anywhere.

Pro Evolution Soccer 3. Games don't stay on my hard drive for long, in most cases. This has been on my computer the longest right now.
On my previous computer it was Master of Orion and FPS Football Pro 96. |

Tropico. It's so short and flavorful that every few months I feel like playing a game and I can do it one sitting.
Sim City 4 - exact opposite of Tropico, but I also come back to it every so often. -Anxiety

Everquest played fairly consistently for five years.
Master of Orion and X-COM Both came out in the late eighties, and I still play them. Championship Manager Since I installed it over two years ago nothing has sucked up my time like CM. Puresim in one version or another for four years. |

Ages of Empire which came free with a PC about 6 years ago--sometimes I just need to wipe out a civilization and this is the easiest way I know how.
Then OOTP, for the last 3-4 years. After that, I really don't play anything else. |

Unfortunately, the WoSoMan website is no more, as is the WoHoMan site (the hockey version). I assume that means support is pretty much lost in terms of getting it replaced, although he was good to me when I asked for a replacement a year or so ago. I misplaced the hockey game, so I'm probably out of luck there. I can zip up MLSM if anyone wants that. Its free. I occassionally update the game every few months as well for semi up to date players/teams... takes a while using a hex editor though. |

WoHoMan was ok. I've never been a huge hockey fan, so it never consistently held my interest. I know I had a disk for it at one time, and it was on my computer for a while, but I don't know if it made the switch
