I just bought a 6-pack of Leffe at Meijer
Finally, some change I can believe in.

Indiana must not be as hip as Flower Mound then. It is exciting for me at least.
We have some pretty good liquor stores around now that have all sorts of good yumminess, but I think it is cool that the more mainstream places are getting broader selections of import and craft beer. Although it surprises me that some place near my house would have it. I would have thought I'm the only person in a 10-mile radius that would by a Belgian beer.

Yep. Agreed DNA. I live close to Ohio so it isn't too bad. I will lobby my cousin to vote for change(state rep).

PA beer laws do indeed suck.
I'll have to look for this sometime in our local store. It has a pretty good selection of micros and imports (mmm, Paulaner).

Yeah, the Meijers in Indiana seem to carry a decent stock of beer. I pick some up from there every once in awhile.

I hate that it's a pain in the ass. Sometimes I just want to walk to the store and grab a 40.

Wow, I had never heard of PA's strange beer laws. That is ridiculous.

May as well be a dry state cause they sure as hell make it too hard to get ur drink on. The standards for getting a liquor license are stupid as well.

I'd love to be able to get Leffe at a grocery store here - luckily I can get a lot of great Belgian beers at a bar I like, and there's a wine/beer store that has a nice stock of Belgians.
I got introduced to Liefman's Goudenband this weekend - some damned fine stuff. |

On the PA tip, my local Wegman's had a sign advertising a Food/Beer pairing event coming this June. I know they had been trying to get a permit to sell sixers - I wonder if this is a signal of delicious, delicious success?

If they are able to separate the food counter into a separate buisiness it is possible they can sell sixers. I know Sheetz spent a ton of money to try to make it work in Altoona. Dunno if they were ok cause I know it got blocked initially.
