Ball State ended their regular season with a perfect 12-0 record. They go to the MAC championship game as the first undefeated team from the conference since Marshall in 1999.

UGA will honor legendary announcer Larry Munson in a ceremony between the first & second quarter on Saturday. They opted to do the recognition at that point because one of the few things Munson has never had a chance to do is be down on the field when the stadium was packed.

I'm afraid that will cause things to be more rushed than they should be but I like the notion of trying to do something that would be different for him.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Two Iowa football fans were caught having sex in a bathroom stall at the Metrodome during Saturday’s Minnesota-Iowa game, KMSP-TV reports.

According to a police report, a Metrodome security officer saw two people having sex in a handicapped stall after noticing two sets of feet with underwear dropped to the ground.

A group of 15 onlookers were gawking at the scene by the time officers broke the couple up and wrote them misdemeanor citations.

According to the Minneapolis Fox affiliate, the woman, 38, was turned over to her husband. The man, 26, was turned over to his girlfriend.

What a stirring sight, seeing Mack Brown get the gatorade bath after Texas beat 35 point underdog Texas A&M 49-9.

Supposedly if the Miners win tomorrow against ECU they'll be extended an offer to the Hawaii Bowl and face our former WAC foe Rainbow Warriors. I would get excited thinking that this would motivate the Miners to play their best, but a similar deal was in place two years ago with the FW Bowl and we laid an egg against, I believe, Memphis.

You know there are way, way too many bowls when the 80th ranked team would be considered a bowl offer.

I've never understood this argument. It's as if an extra football game in mid-December is a bad thing.

I am in favor of rewarding excellence and the very good, not mediocracy. A team can be in second-to-last place in their conference, be 5-6, ranked among the bottom third of teams and not having beaten anyone with a winning record and yet still can possibly rewarded with a post-season bowl game. (Not referring to UTEP, just speaking generally). The only reason I would be in favor of a playoffs if it would reduce the number of teams playing in the post-season.

Not to mention that it allows teams at worst an extra couple weeks of practice. Probably not the same for when teams are preparing for high profile bowls, but those second-tier bowl teams use that time to get second-stringers first team reps, and to see how the team will start to look when the seniors are gone.

Hell, Rutgers played in the International Bowl last year, which was held AFTER a couple BCS games, somewhere around January 5th, and it meant 5 more weeks of practice and an additional 2 weeks compared to if they played in a similar Christmas time bowl. Come to think of it, with our start this year, maybe that extra practice was a bad thing .

The more bowls, the merrier. All of the anti-playoff people should be fine with the status quo.

I don't know about great, but I certainly think it's exciting. Although, I half expected John Saunders to say, "Whether you like the BCS or not...we bought it, so deal."

ESPN's Chris Low reporting that, barring any contractual complications over the weekend, Tennessee will introduce Lane Kiffin as their new head coach on Monday.

I can't believe an offense that returned Pat White, Noel Devine, and the entire starting line from the Fiesta Bowl win turned into a big turd in just one season under Bill Stewart's watch. I didn't expect WVU to be great this season, but with a pretty weak schedule, I at least expected the offense to be fun to watch. This has been the most disappointing sports season, for one of my teams, of my life.

Speaking of shitting their pants, 17 straight for LSU, and it is LSU 20, Arkansas 14. Almost an exact repeat of last week's start at MSU. Sigh.

edit to update and not flood thread:

23-14 LSU at halftime

Eastern Michigan QB Andy Schmitt attempted 80 passes today vs Central Michigan. He completed 58 for 516 yards and 5 TD in a winning effort.

To be fair, WVU's offense looked better this year against Pitt than last year.

Um, he wasn't that far off. Better chance of that than a hail mary.

I am kind of glad we lost, this should force Les Miles hand in firing our inept defensive coaches. But the holding penalty on the first down run(he was engaged inside the shoulders) and the pass interference that negated the INT (the defender has the right to take up space, the same play wasn't called against Arkansas and LSU later on) were BS calls that cost LSU the game nearly as much as bad coaching.

Im sure some SEC apologist on ESPN will find a way of spinning this into how SEC is an even tougher conference now.

Are you talking about LSU losing to Arkansas? LSU has sucked all year, why would this loss make any difference either way?

Yes but when talking about Florida they still use LSU as a quality win.

Edit: And I am still not convinced Georgia is that good either.
