Holy Cow! Jaguars Schedule is TOUGH
Take a look at the teams the Jags are playing this year:
Steelers Patriots Eagles Giants Redskins Giants Jets Dolphins Chiefs Cowboys Super Bowl Winner last year, Super Bowl winner the previous year, team in Super Bowl the previous year, Giants were a playoff team, Redskins were a playoff team, Chiefs were good enough to be, Dolphins look to be on the rise again - that's a very powerful schedule. -Anxiety EDIT: That's outside the division. Obviously they have the Colts, Titans and Texans twice.

Eagles Suck
Jets Suck Chiefs lost all their coaches... and got the coach that made the Jets suck Cowboys sucked, and are one good shot on Bledsoe, or one pout from TO from really sucking Oh, and the Texans suck... and the Titans aren't so great either. So, it could be worse. |

I'm not saying that the Jags are playing 16 playoff games week in and week out - but there is very little fluff in that schedule. -Anxiety

Didn't they have a fluff schedule last year? What with the Cardinals, Rams, 49-ers, Ravens, Browns, Texans x2, and Titans x 2

Ehhh, the Foreskins have a QB that can get the senior discount at Denny's. Shouldn't be a problem there...

They have Matt Jones, what else do they need?

They also have a very promising second year QB they've been grooming, and have signed a decent veteran backup. I'm not going to sweat... much... if Brunell goes down. |

They had the hardest schedule in the league for the first six or seven weeks or so when they had the Colts, Seahawks, Bengals, Steelers, then it became one of the easiest second halves. -Anxiety

Campbell and promising should never be used in the same sentence. The Redskins essentialy traded away something like 4 picks to take a guy no other team wanted before the 4th round last year. They just moved their "promising" young quarterback. They are a Brunell injury away from 5-11 or 6-10. |

Is that a typo, or do they actually play the Giants twice? Is it possible for teams to play an out of conference opponent twice? |

Ramsey was promising, but after four years, he's still and interception machine. I think the most potential he has is to eventually become Jake Plummer... with less mobility. I'm not sure where you're getting the negativity on Campbell. He's had a year to sit and learn the ropes, and most indications are that he's improved a great deal, and looks very promising. |

Damn Giants. Hold on, the other team is.... Bills. I figure four teams in the NFL are Tier One: Colts, Steelers, Patriots, and Seahawks. The Jags have FOUR games against Tier One Teams. I figure that playoff or almost playoff (Chiefs, Chargers) teams from last year are Tier Two. The Jags have three games against Tier Two Teams. I figure that teams with either a decent chance at the playoffs or likely an 8-8 season are Tier Three. You never know when a Tier Three team will move up (Dolphins, Cowboys, Eagles, Vikings, etc). The Jags have five (Depends on Judgment Call: Titans, however, since the Titans and Jags are fierce rivals, the Titans will play better, so I'd put them here) games against Tier Three Teams. Chump Teams are teams that have every chance of notching four wins. Texans, Lions, 49ers, Cards, Bills, etc. The Jags have four (Texans x2, Jets, Bills). Of the 16 games the Jags have, ten games are against teams either in the playoffs last year or the year before. What makes the schedule so difficult, to my mind, is the top heavy portion. -Anxiety

Hrm, I'll put The Bengals schedule up against that, no problem:
Steelers X2 Patriots Chargers Chiefs Colts Panthers Broncos Buccaneers Falcons *************************(also rans below) Ravens X2 Browns X2 Raiders Saints Thats 10 playoff capable teams. The browns are definitely improved, and the Ravens always have a solid Defense and good ground game, so they aren't exactly bottom feeders. A good bit tougher than the jags schedule, IMO.

Yep, the Bengals have to worry about repeating their success against a hard schedule as well, no doubt about that. I don;t mind if you think the schedule is harder, since a lot comes down to how each of us view the bottom and middle tiered teams, which obviously is a YMMV sort of thing. However, I think saying it is "a good bit tougher" is a bit of hyperbole. -Anxiety

Pats have an easy schedule.
I don't know who they're playing, but I know it's 16 teams that aren't as good as the Pats. |

Hmm.. just for giggles, let's look at the schedule for my Redskins:
Home: Dallas - Bah Philadelphia - Rebuilding.. who knows? Giants - Meh... didn't really deserve to win the East last year Atlanta - Solid Carolina - Solid Minnesota - ??? Finished respectably last year, despite problems... could be dangerous Jacksonville - Solid Tennessee - Off year (probably So, I see at least three tough home games - maybe as many as six. Not bad. Away: Dallas - Tough on the road Philadelphia - ditto Giants - ditto New Orleans - pushover Tampa Bay - Beat 'em on the road in the playoffs... still solid St. Louis - rebuilding Houston - crap Indianapolis - Solid So, five tough road games. Oddly enough, I see pretty much the same thing I see in the Jags schedule. If they're average, they ought to win 8 games. If they're lucky, and a little good, 9 or 10. If they suck, 7 or less. |

Nah, at least the Bengals fan was pointing out a ton of games against the best of the best - Steelers twice, Pats, Colts. Jags have Colts twice, Steelers, Pats. The Skins just have the Colts, once, none of the other major heavies in the game. I don;t think most NFC teams are going to be able to present a schedule as tough as many AFC teams. -Anxiety
