Re-cut trailers

A post-production company recently had a contest in which they had people re-cut trailers to famous movies to try and make them look like entirely different films. Here are a few of them, they're just brilliant stuff...

The Shining

Titanic

West Side Story

And a couple more that weren't involved in the contest...

The Parent Trap (Click on Paul Lacalandra's name and then "Ordinary Girls")

Psycho

I just watched the Shining one. OUTSTANDING!

EDIT: Hahaha. I love how it shows him kissing the corpse/ghost woman, and it looks like romance.

The guy who did the shining one has been getting some press and attention. Apparently some exec from time warner asked him if he had any "ideas" for trailers.

I wonder why. He could easily put together some catchy trailers for just about anything and have audiences fooled. And, with the editing, could probably expand that to the whole friggin film and put out some brilliant movies.

I loved the Shining.

IMO the Titanic one looked pretty on par with teh actual movie. I know they were trying to go with a whole Zombie thing but I don't really think they did a good enough job.

having watched them all now, Shining is by far the best of the bunch. It comes the closest to actually looking just like a real trailer and making the movie look nothing like it is.

I thought is was kind of unfunny actually. It started off strong but then seemed to run out of relevant scenes or lines.

The Shining one is easily the best.

What, no love for Brokeback to the Future? I think it's second best to Shining, of all the one's I've seen.

I dunno- anyone can make something from the 80s seem "gay"- heck, how about Brokeback Rocky with Apollo and Rocky in III? To make those others (ie Non-Brokeback) is a bit higher on the degree of difficulty scale.

There are a ton of these trailers out (Brokeback and another movie). I think I saw a Rush Hour one done. I am surprised there is no star wars one done yet.
