University Athletics and Such
My day was interesting. I just came back from a University Athletics Luncheon with 50 or so athletes, coaches, administrators, boosters and alumni. I was invited and I've only been here for a year and a half - my first invite! (Eastern Michigan University is an institution of 24,000 students, which should give you an idea of the size of the administartion and such). JaQuan Hart was there (starting b-ball player), but he's a resident in my complex so I see him daily anyway.
Both of the Basketball coaches (male and female) spoke, there was schmoozing, food, and fun. It was a good time, and I look forward to being invited back. Just in case anybody was interested in my day. I know all of you were. -Anxiety

Anxiety--
I had the chance to see Eastern play when they destroyed my Chippewas in Ypsi last month. Hart played pretty good, as did a couple other Eagles. I think your program is on its way back to being a pretty decent MAC squad, just as long as you stop beating Central in the future Also, EMU's athletic facilities are top-notch. I've had the chance to cover a basketball game in every MAC arena except Ohio's, and yours is by far the nicest. |

Thanks
JaQuan is a mammoth defender - and our best athelete by far. But he's not exactly an offensive machine. Coach Boone today was talking about getting EMU to the place where we host a game or two in the MAC Tournament. We'll see. -Anxiety

Enjoy that place. It was two great years of my life, but a little too great, if you know what I'm talking about. It all worked out though

Well, once you get past Kent, Central, and Northern Illinois, I don't think the talent level differentiates much between the rest of the conference, except for Buffalo who are utter crap. Right now Eastern is tied for the sixth seed, so they could move up to take the fifth and get home court, but I think they will need to win at least three of their last five to do it. I don't see any definite wins outside of Buffalo in their last five, but I think they could win at Toledo and beat Western at home.
