2nd FOFC Bloodbowl League (League Created; Accepting Apps)
I started the second FOFC Blood Bowl league. People who have expressed interest need to sign up ASAP so we can get this thing rolling.
League name: FOFC BBL2 League password: dolaleague Current Rules Turn-based Classic Mode. Turn Length: Four minutes. Structure: Championship (league tables with promotion and relegation) with multiple divisions. Size: 12 teams organized into 6 team divisions. Scheduling: 1 game versus each divisional opponent. First place reward: 100000 Second place reward: 50000 Game Scheduling/Timetables League is up, sign-ups are open. I would like to do one set of matches per week, although I would be open to two per week if possible. I may just set the time limit to "free" so we can advance the league as quickly or slowly as necessary. MacroGuru - Goblins - Gobbo Doom Mob (READY) 3. SirFozzie - Skaven 4. Havok - Chaos - Fallen From Grace (READY) 5. BYU14 - Dwarves 6. RendeR - Lizardmen - Dragon-Sexy (READY) 7. Still in, will be playing from the road......I am thinking of just going with a plain old Human team, however I reserve the right to change it.

I am still in as well, so long as I won't inconvenience anyone. We start Football practice tomorrow and I won't be home during the week until 7:30 PST or so (7:30 MST after the clocks go back)
That would be kind of late for the east coast guys, so I just want to make sure it won't be issue if I am restricted to playing mostly on Saturday or Sunday mornings. (I am always up at 6am on weekends, though I try not to be) Last edited by BYU 14 : 07-27-2009 at 03:26 PM. |

I wouldn't be averse to just playing a six team league and having relatively quick seasons. We'll wait to see if there's any more interest, though. I think EF posted in the other league thread that he's interested in a second league.

I'm interested. However, I'm out town Friday morning through Monday night.
I'd like an Orc team. I have a much better idea on how to build them and use them now. |

I'm not eager to be in two leagues at the same time but the other league is more than halfway over so as long as we're only doing one game a week in this league too then count me in as well.

If we have 12 teams in our league, would you all prefer two division of 6 teams or one big division with all the teams?

2 divisions defintely sounds good, play every team once or twice is fine with me, just makes for a longer season either way.
2 playoff teams or 4? |

You guys are really up for a 10+ week season? I figured with two divisions of six we'd be have a relatively short season so we could play through several seasons and have fun relegation/promotion battles more often--I'd rather the league table be tight and keep everyone involved for most of the weeks than end up in a situation where teams are stuck halfway through the season with little to play for.
Actually, if we did two games against each divisional opponent, it'd be cool if they could both be done in a week. That may be difficult for some of you who are tight on playing time, though. As far as playoffs are concerned, if we go one division, they should be 4-team. If we go two divisions it should be 2-team. You don't want the regular season to be too meaningless (4 of 6 teams going to playoffs? meh). Last edited by aran : 07-27-2009 at 06:30 PM. |

Are you planning a 2 division championship or playoff setup? I was thinking playoff, but a championship with relegation works well too. No contracts or negotiating with players though, its crap. Aging is acceptable as it forces you to bring in new players over time.
fun stuff. |

I was thinking championship. I don't know what people would prefer. I'd like to keep seasons short (one game v each opponent) so we can have fun with the relegation/promotion battles.
I tried to make a multiplayer blitz league earlier and the aging option was greyed out--I don't know what's up with that. |

That sounds fine, 2 divisions of 6, 5 game seasons, relegation will make for some excitement.
Not sure about the online side but in Single player side you have to create your rules set first then create the league. |

I forgot to ask, is this real time or turn based? I've never played real time but i'd be willing to give it a go.

I'm assuming it is the turn based mode. I wouldn't be interested in doing a real time league. |

Would love to join this, but already stretching myself thin with 2 leagues currently. I think another would push me over the edge into borderline work territory with scheduling.
Will definitely be following though, and maybe can get in on something after the first FOFC league season is done. |

Time zones would make it tricky for me to play you guys, or else I'd be all over this.

OK. So we're aiming for a 12 team championship with two divisions. Scheduling is 1 game v each team.
We need three more people to make this thing go. I'm not going to be able to make the league until Wednesday night at the earliest (away tomorrow on my laptop without the game), so no rush. |

I might use a race I've never used before - Wood Elves. I can already hear the squishing sound my players will make when they hit the turf.

Wow, I dunno man. I'm sort of baffled that all that stuff is greyed out of the online leagues. WTF for?
Check the forums, maybe something has been done by outsiders to open those options up for us. |

I played a single player game with gobbos last night and yeah, it was good fun. How do you throw team-mate though? I handed the ball off to a gobbo next to my troll, but I could see no way to use the skill with my troll?

If anyone can figure out how to get the league created properly, please go ahead and post details here. I don't have any energy left tonight to deal with this half-assed multiplayer service.

I think a lot of the blitz options are not active for MP leagues, just go with what you can.

I suppose we have to take care of the scheduling ourselves?
How would everyone feel about playing the league in Classic Mode?

From what I've read they're looking at adding/upgrading the multiplayer stuff after a period of time to make sure what they have active is working fine. Who knows how long that might be.
I'd say just go with what you can, don't stress the small stuff. I don't have an issue with playing the classic version, it just takes out some of the add-on abilities. To throw a teamate you must have the ball in the hands of a player with "the right stuff" skill, he must end HIS move next to a player with "throw teamate" skill. Then you just grab the guy (right click I think) and toss his smarmy butt. |
