I scored 20% on Verbal than on math. But I fail to see the point of this thread.

This should include a "when" also. I have a brother and sister 10 and 7 years older than me, respectively, and when I was preparing for it I looked at a couple of their old books and it was definitely harder back then, especially in verbal (the antonym analogies sucked).

2000:
740 Math
680 Verbal
1420 Total

Maybe we've got someone who got a 2400. That would be exciting as I don't think I know anyone with a perfect score on the new test.

Took the ACT, never took the SAT. If memory serves, I had a 29 on the ACT.

Gives everyone a reason to lie.

I'll deviate a second and post what is one of my favorite Seinfeld exchanges of all time:

George: I've been lying about my SAT scores for 15 years.
Jerry: What did you get?
George: What did I get or what do I say I got?
Jerry: What do you say?
George: I say 1409.
Jerry: 1409, that's a good score.
George: You're telling me.
Jerry: What did you really get?
George: You're my friend?
Jerry: Of course.
George: I tell you everything, right?
Jerry: I hope so.
George: Well...this I take to the grave.

So we're comparing intellectual e-peen's now eh?

SAT was 1270 (590 math, 680 verbal)
ACT was 33 (31 science, the other 3 sections were each 33)

Yes, I know those two scores are completely incongruous.

I think I got an 1150 on the SAT and a 31 on the ACT. I know I did much better, percentage-wise, on the ACT.

Didn't take it again since most Southern schools used the ACT back then. SAT verbal kicked my ass more than most verbals, because SAT is the one standardized test one should ideally study some for, and I was never one to crack open a book for studying.

Edit, ACT was either a 28 or 29, I don't remember. All that mattered was that the English score was enough to get me college credit at LSU.

I think that's around what I got. Like 680/590 or something. Back in 1993 middle of my junior year, I should have taken it when I was a senior as well, but wasn't going to go to a Uni so I didn't feel the need to retake something that wouldn't help me get into a community college.

Never studied for organized tests, not at all a fan of them and felt my grades and activities in high school spoke for themselves.

What? I applied to UNC-Chapel Hill and Georgia Tech in 1995 and had applications for Duke, MIT, Carnegie Mellon(last two not south obviously) that I never bothered to send in after getting early acceptance to Georgia Tech. All took the SAT. I never took the ACT b/c I was told that unless I was applying to schools in the midwest/further out west than that it was pointless.

1989 (9th grader) - 1420.

1990 (10th grader) - 1520 (800 on math, 720 verbal.) I think studying for the SAT's when I was in 9th grade was one of the smartest choices I ever made as they were definitely a main factor in my admission to the Resident Honors Program/Trustee Scholar Program at USC.

Had the worst testing location with enough disturbances I did not complete the verbal.

ACT 34 (forget the subscores, lowest was 31, highest 36 math)

As long as we are wasting time, 1510 GRE (800 math, 710 verbal)

Tests don't seem a very good measure of intelligence anyway, for the most part good test taking strategy (and practice of course) accounts for as much or more than the ability to solve problems.

1350 overall. Not that is has been followed with anything resembling a successful career in the years since I took it. I'm thinking I should sue somebody. I was clearly misled.

I'm talking about the REAL south! LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Florida all preferred the ACT then I think; (Florida may have been equal) and Texas and Rice were ok with ACT scores.

If I had the grades for Rice or for a near free ride at Texas I probably would have focused on the SAT as a senior.

Huh, I didn't know that. Georgia Tech obviously accepted the SAT since I ended up getting accepted there, but I didn't apply to any other schools in those states.

oh yeah, also, 800 math, 500 verbal.

Bah. I got the highest score in my county on the science exam (one of the specialty exams given out along with the SAT) where I completely SWAGged 50% of the answers. These tests are easy if you know how to eliminate answers from the multiple choice and figure out which one of the other two is more likely even if you don't know much about the subject (which is why standardized tests are stoopid).

I have no problem reliving glories of yesteryear. My SAT score was one of the only good things to come out of my junior year, and if I had been wiser I would have ridden it to a full scholarship.

1992, Math 750, Verbal 780, 1530 combined.

Verbal 750
Math 520
Total - 1270

But this was without studying at all. In fact, I sometimes wonder how my life would've turned out if I'd taken school more seriously and actually studied and worked hard rather than slacking off on my way to honors graduation.

This. The first couple of years at NC State roughed me up something good because my lazy high school habits carried over (that and the internet started getting big right as I got to college...Doom Deathmatch FTW!).

Oh, and 1350 (680 math, 670 verbal), BTW.

unsure why anyone would create such a thread, but I replied b/c no one was making a big deal about it. So if someone was curious, I'm not ashamed nor overly proud of anything like this, so I answered. Might as well have asked "what state do you live in?" I really don't care where most people live, but if someone asks, I'll answer.

Scored a 29 on my ACT without studying the Saturday morning after my 18th birthday with a hangover and 2 hours asleep. It was more than enough to get me into the universities I wanted to go to.

Yeah, I somehow got an 800 on the SATII (World History) I know I got the most questions wrong on. And a 750 on the Math SATII when I failed Calculus in HS and got 470 when I took a pre-test. Plus you know, I scored a 1370 my first time, then a 1540 iirc when I was hungover the 2nd time, but it's been 5 years and I don't have a college degree yet, so I'm quite certain that once you reach a minimum threshold (~1000 or so) motivation and drive matter much more than IQ, let alone SAT scores.

I thought the new test essentially just added/required the SATII writing exam, which most good colleges required/recommended, to the math and verbal scores.

Not sure why anyone would post in the thread if they're not going to reveal scores or reply to someone who did. Anyway, I took the ACT instead of the SAT. I scored a 31 on the ACT, and that was actually dragged down by the 19 I got on the math portion. That's my damn GED education at work.
