OOTP Historical League
For me that seems to be the missing puzzle in my OOTP experience, any interest in starting a new one?

I'd be interested...maybe something close to what Marmel is doing in his solo league...start with 8 teans, expand.move as necessary, etc....I definitely think it would be a good time

Hmmm.....
I don't like doing alot of leagues at once because I would rather be more dedicated to less leagues than less dedicated to more leagues... but I am a little like you, in that I am not doing a historical league right now either... What timeframe did you have in mind? I think I would be interested in joining or even helping however was needed (from things like hosting a site, forums, or whatever.) |

Not to ideajack vtbub, but just thinking off the top of my head...
In theory, we would only need a small contingent to start depending on when the league would start...As little as 16 I think if we started as far back as like 1903 (1st world series)... Another idea would be to either sim longer blocks of time or sim more often to make up the years quickly... Again, just thinking out loud so take it all accordingly... |

Have webhosting and message boards set, thanks.
Was thinking 16 teams, 4 divisions of 4. Two rounds of best of 7 playoffs. 3 14 day live sims a week, sun, tue, thur. Piggy back on JBL. Era doesn't really matter too much, at one point in time tossed around a 1901 league, but any era is fine. |

dola,
I'm definitely for starting early..if we're going to do a historical league, might as well go back as far as we safely can...I think it would add a lot more to the record books et al. |

I would like to get in too. I love the idea of a historical league. If we get to pick teams, I would like the Red Sox. If they are already taken, I'll take any team though. Except the Yankees, of course.

Argh, all these leagues with openings and I can't join them all...
Edit: Aw hell, sign me up. Looks like my Astros were snagged before I could get them in HA's new league, and a historical league sounds like real fun. What teams are we going to have available?

I might be - depending on what year it starts.

Would it be acceptable for a newbie to OOTP to be part of this league? I have had OOTP5 for a while, but haven't found single play to be any fun yet... hoping league play will let me have my money's worth out of the game!
(Edit: forgot a word...)

My thought was a 1945 league based in Europe.
Not opposed to '01 but to simulate the entire history of baseball at a pace of one sim month per week would take 19 years. As always, I am open to suggestions, but London beating Moscow, or worse losing to Moscow is intriguing. |

I wish I could move back to Germany...

Bump, Vatican City Cardinals here.
If people would prefer 1901, please say so, if there is enough interest, we'll do that |

Well if JeeberD is ok with 1901, then I guess we will proceed from there.
'55 is an interesting year, I'm doing a solo 1960 league, and my team sucks. The key thing is to get to 16 as soon as possible so timelines can be set up, and since I chose Vatican City, to have one of my arch-nemisises take Rome, are you reading this SirFoz? Either way, we should have a lot of fun with this and hope to get started soon. |

I'd like to be in this league, always have been looking for a historical league to be a part of. Anyway, not sure about what European city I'd want to be a part of, but...I'll figure it out. Count me in for now though fellas.

Stuttgart needs a rival in Germany, so a Berlin, Frankfurt, or Munich team would be a perfect fit...
