I mean, seriously, how can we forget the Jenkins shot in less than a year?

Lorenzo Charles 83 as it felt the same as last night (because who thought Phi Slamma Jamma was going to lose). Tie game and nothing was lost if they missed the shot but still it was David beating Goliath last night except NC State won the title unlike Mistake who still needs one more win.

In this day and age of parity, the Williams shot has to be the one. It ended an incredible 111 game winning streak.

Think about that. 111 straight wins. 111. Who does that anymore?

Laettner was 10 for 10 from the floor and 10 for 10 from the line. It was an absurd game. If it isn't the best buzzer beater, it's the best pass to a buzzer beater.

Come to think of it, U.S. Reed for Arkansas in '81 as well

edit to add: In the less-than-one-second category, James Forrest of Ga Tech in '91 to beat USC

Yeah, it wasn't just the shot itself but the whole sequence, including Grant Hill dropping in that pass to Laettner like Aaron Rodgers late in a game. There is also something substantially different in my mind about a score that moves one team from behind to the lead, as opposed to a shot that simply breaks the tie.

10 for 10 means nothing when talking about only the shot... just sayin'

Sure it does. It adds to the moment and the gravity of the situation. For him to perform there, when he hadn't missed all night, takes it from really awesome shot to legendary status. Just sayin'.

It's the same reason the William shot from last night is in the discussion. Taken out of context, it is a garden variety buzzer beater, but when you add in the win streak and the invincibility of UConn, the moment and the shot have huge, huge magnitude.

Not at all the same. No one talks about him being 10 for 10, only the play itself.

Totally opposite take on that from me.

If he'd been 0/10 and hit that one, way better moment than perfect all night so what's just one more.

And my recollection of it live, at no point as I ran screaming through my grandparents apartment -- the site of many an ACC vs SEC battle -- did I care what his shooting numbers for the night were. All that mattered was that he just extinguished UK.
