I thought this thread was going to be about breast ironing...

There was a deleted thread where he called Africans "animals" for practicing some arcane body alteration called "breast ironing". His point seemed to want to be "how can you destroy something as beautiful as breasts"... but what he actually seemed to say was "man, Africans sure are a bunch of dumb animals who need to be caged up". Oops.

Hmmm.... Well, breast ironing is pretty damn stupid. But so is assuming that all africans do it and are therefore animals.

That's an extremely generous characterization. It was a thread that would have made David Duke uncomfortable.

I was gonna suggest 'lifetime achievement', but Daimyo beat me to it;

Be careful Daimyo, you could find yourself in HA's League of Extraordinary Douchebags soon...

I don't get it though.

Everybody knows HA is a racist, so why should he get boxed for it now?

Hell Atlantic started a thread that, in my judgment and that of other moderators, was designed primarily to be inflammatory. It has since been deleted, and I am comfortable with the judgment made to do so -- it was having its intended effect, and was rapidly spiraling downward even in its first few minutes of life.

Whether one view this sort of thing as outside his normal character is perhaps open for debate -- but this particular offering was judged to be sufficient to trigger a boxing. This forum has been well served, in my view, by having that thread deleted, and by the decision to render its author speechless here for at least some period of time.

I hope that is a helpful response -- the opinions are just my own, not necesarily made on behalf of the moderators group or any larger view.

Honestly, people talk about stuff being not work-safe, that was the first thread I've ever seen here that could actually get somebody fired for having it on-screen at work.

HA has special protection here. Not sure why, but it's so obvious that he even brags about it. No one else would get this many boxings for trolling and still be here.

Yes, it is. It was far out of line to say the least. I stopped reading after something like 3 posts, so maybe it got worse. But the first post was certainly bad enough.

I think that's taking it a little far. I posted in the thread before it disappeared. While I thought HA's comments were horrible, I didn't even think it rose to the level of a boxing. But I guess I'm weird that way. I didn't see the same motivation to inflame that the moderators did - I just saw HA posting something idiotic. But I certainly understand their decision. But to say someone could get fired from having that thread (as opposed to various sexual ones on the board) seems over-the-top to me.

We all have our own little personal backstories which color what alarms our sensibilities. I don't believe I've ever had a job where I was NOT exposed to pornography on a fairly regular basis, and also every job I've ever had I've worked with diverse crews - blacks, asians, jews, you name it. So something like this rings my bell quite a bit more than, say, that pic in the MaxiFoot thread of the naked girl with the video game covering up her naughty bits.

She was definitely not even remotely cute, or hittable, or even heterosexual for that matter, but she looked fairly good in the pics. She made food and restaurant supplies.
