Kevin "K-Fed" Federline...Rap Artist???

From People Magazine's Website...

Quote:
Kevin Federline is taking his licks from critics for his first single, "Y'All Ain't Ready," from his upcoming hip-hop CD, The Truth, due for release next year.

The track has been posted on the Web site of producer Disco D, and reactions have not been kind. "Kanye West he's not," opines the New York Post of former backup dancer Federline, 27, who also happens to be married to Britney Spears. "He's not even Vanilla Ice."

Against what the New York Daily News' Lowdown column calls "a crude beat," Federline – the father of three, including his son with Spears, Sean Preston Federline, born in September – says during the chorus of the song: "Back then they called me K-Fed/ But you can call me Daddy instead."

As the rap's refrain goes: "Go ahead and say whatcha wanna/I'm gonna sell about 2 mil, oh, then I'm a goner ... I know you all wish you was in my position/Cause I keep gettin' in situations that you wish you was in, cousin ... Steppin' in this game and y'all ain't got a clue ... Getting anxious? Go take a peep/ I'm starrin' in your magazines now every day and week ... But maybe baby you can wait and see/ Until then all these Pavarottis followin' me."

The Daily News suggests that Federline means to say "paparazzi" instead of "Pavarotti," who is a famed opera singer. (Other Web sites say it's not a mistake, but Federline's nickname for the ever-present photographers.)

Still, claims the Post, the beats of the song stick in the ear – even if they're not terribly original – and the sound effects may remind you of a pinball machine, albeit one submerged in water.

This is the single most anticipated debut rap album since Brian Austin Green.

Until they mentioned that he's Britney Spears' husband, I had no idea who this clown was. I certainly didn't recognize the name. With that said, I'll be the first (and only) person in line to purchase the CD.

I think I read something about a week ago that said Britney gave him a less-than-flattering review of his album as well.

Don't quit your day job as Mr. Spears.

The unintentional comedy scale on this one will be through the roof. I can't wait to hear some parts of a song just for a good laugh at how pathetic it is.

I happened to catch part of his new single yesterday. The local "alternative" station, Q101, managed to get a leaked copy and played about 30 seconds of it for hilarity purposes.

I can't really describe it, but basically it's as bad as you'd think it would be.

He needs to start referring to himself in third-person. That always works.

Bring up that Age Poll that was taken a month back or so, and you will have your answer.

ended it's run in 1983. by my primative calculations I was 11. can't say I specifically recall seeing first run but I've seen my fair share.

on a totally unrelated note I've seen every episode of Threes Company ever aired....twice.

1976-1983. So I was -1 to 6 years old when it was on the air. I remember it vaguely, I think my mom used to watch it.

Wow from K-Fed to Laverne and Shirley? Impressive threadjack.

thank you. I'd argue Laverne and Shirley is way more entertaining than K-Tred.

I can go with the adjective "cute", but never "hot". That was reserved for the women of Charlie's Angels, or more specifically Farrah Fawcett and Jacklyn Smith (I didn't go for Kate Jackson so much at the time), or Daisy Duke.

And from Roger Friedman

Quote:

Britney's Hubby Takes a Bad Rap

From the sublime to the ridiculous: Mr. Britney Spears, aka Kevin Federline, is recording rap music.

Yesterday, some of it was leaked onto the Web. It is — surprise, surprise — quite awful. Thanks to an intrepid soul on the Velvet Rope Web site, here are the lyrics that could be determined:

"I should be saying keep my damn name outcha mouth but y'all people keep increasing my change amount
So, go ahead and say whatcha wanna, I'm gonna sell bout two mill, fool, then I'm a-gonna
I know you wish you was in my position cuz I keep getting into situations that you wish you wuz in, cousin
I'm not your brother, not your uncle, I'm daddy, dude
Steppin' in this game and y'all ain't got a clue
My prediction is that y'all gonna hate on the style we create, straight 2008
But I know that you really can't wait because people are always askin' me — when's the release date?
Well maybe baby you can wait and see
Until then, all these Pavarottis following me
Gettin' anxious, go take a peek, I'm starring in your magazine now every day of the week
Back, then, they call me K-Fed, but you can call me Daddy instead..."

This is what we get, 34 years after Harrison, Dylan, Clapton, et al. And you say the world is not ending.

dola, his publicist put this out

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Defying stereotypical racial and regional rap rules, L.A.-based Kevin Federline brings mad hype skills and multi-faceted flavor to the '05-'06 hip-hop table. Serving it straight up street on the hard, jazzy, mellow, smoothed-out funk tip, The Truth, his dynamic debut album, features that phat lead single, "Y'all Ain't Ready....," a prime rhyme example of Federline's ability to transcend rap's traditional ethnic boundaries....

...Federline, aKa K-Fed, who produced and/or co-produced the lion's share of the album, gives props to his CD's other studio wizards--L.A. Jay and Slim Kid-3 (the Pharcyde).... "Slim Kid-3 and L.A. Jay are two of my closet [sic] friends, and their production skills are all that," acknowledged K-Fed.... [D]ope "...Truth's" cuts include..."The Drama," a serious tale from the hood; and "Didn't Have a Clue," a whack [sic] rapper's worst "mic"-mare.

"Although I knew being white would make it a little harder for me to get the props and respect all rappers want and need, I'm confidant [sic] I can do it and still be myself," noted K-Fed; totally immersed in rap's urban roots and culture....

As "Y'All Ain't Ready" takes its top-chart rise, and his mind- blowing new album continues to surprise, be assured that rap metaphor master Kevin Federline has the right stuff to become a hit-making machine...."Yeah, I'd like to really blow up someday, who wouldn't?" he concludes.
