I just might have to join you. I'm getting out there on the 15th for the HP convention at Mandalay Bay. and will be there until the 21st or 22nd. I was hoping to enter one of the $1500 events after missing out last year. I saw Quik sit down at his table, but I got chased out of the room as a non-player.

The $1,500 event on the 21st looks interesting, since it is the day before the $50K HORSE tourny starts.

Will play in one of the Saturday $1500 events with the same group in my home game that went out last year.

I'm pretty likely to get out there, have no specific plans as of yet. Last year, brought the whole family out to Vegas for a month, and played cards 29 of 30 nights. It was basically grueling, and while I had fun, it wasn't a "festive" setting -- playing night after night for meaningful stakes turned into pretty hard work, and I was basically exhausted at the end of my month-long "vacation."

I'd like to get back out for 3-5 days, though, and hopefully play in at least one WSOP event. (And hopefully at least one deep stack event at the Ventian, which I'm sure they will run again)

I definitely hope to be out in Vegas for at least part of the WSOP, though unless I get lucky in a qualifier i don't think I'd be playing in any events, just cash games. Depends on how some stuff goes early this year though and on the travel costs and such.

I'm still shooting for the $1500 NLHE on the 21st. The plan is still to arrive on Sunday the 16th for the HP conference at Mandalay Bay.

I am playing in a 10 week satellite series to get into a $2500 event. Top 2 make it, and I am in 5th right now, after 4 weeks.

Got back late last night, had a great time with Lathum and cartman. I spent some time at the Rio on Tuesday with Lathum's crew, but was not around to see him bust.

Cellphone pic of Brian (Lathum) at the WSOP. It looks a little bit like he has his arm around the woman next to him, but I'm pretty sure he didn't.

Yeah, she was acting odd, too, I forget exactly what she was doing - but she was freaking us out a bit in the gallery.

A bit off topic, but what is spectator experience like at the WSOP. I'll be in vegas during the early stages of the main event and was thinking of heading to the Rio to check it out.

I wouldn't really say its that good - they pretty much just tolerate spectators, barely.
