Unhappy Prayers please

My dad called me a bit ago and told me the news... my grandma passed away a few hours ago. She was 87 and has been in intensive care for about 3 weeks now. She has been complaining of being really tired and called my dad one day when she felt dizzy and was having chest pains. She went into cardiac arrest hours later and they had to revive her.

My family and I went to visit her about a week and a half ago and although she wasn't all there, she did grasp my hand when I whispered in her ear that I loved her. She started getting better a few days later and we went back. She had a breathing tube down her throat, but teared up when she saw my kids. My 5 year old held her hand and told her she would be allright.

A few days go by and she's back to critical condition again... our family went on this roller coaster for days when my dad finally called me tonight with the bad news as her liver was all but working and they weened her off the medication and started a morphine trickle.

I'll miss her and I wanted to say she was a great woman. I'll never forget the time we went to the movies and saw Deathtrap.

Anyway, I'm not one to let out my feelings without letting them stew for a bit, but I wanted to get it out and cry for a bit as I write this. Grandma, I'll miss you.

My grandmother's death was the hardest one I've experienced so far. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, Todd.

THANK YOU ALL.

Sorry to hear that, MizzouRah.

I hope that this is not too hard on your kids--mine (including a five-year-old, like yours) have a 90-year-old grandfather whom they love very much, and I have no idea how I should talk to them when he passes.

Peace to you and your family.

Again, THANK YOU ALL!

My Uncle Chris, who is the youngest kid was really having a hard time since she was admitted into the hospital. I talked to him tonight and I feel a little better.

I am sorry for your loss. My grandmother died a year ago and it was tough. She was 91 years old. She did a lot for me during my life and I think about her a lot. I'm just glad that I got to know her as long as I did. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Condolences, Mizzou. My Grandfather died several years ago. It's pretty tough.

Last year, I went to Beijing to fulfill his dream of being able to climb the steps of the Great Wall of China. I will always remember him being there with me in spirit as I stood on top of one of the greatest wonders of the world.

I am there with you, this year had been a year since I lost my grandfather, and I have to say, the board here helped a bit get over it....

FOFC is definitely helpful in many of ways...

I feel for you, and you and yours are in our prayers.

It's always hard losing a loved one. If anything, be thankful you had the opportunity to say "good bye." My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family, Todd. Take care...
