FM - Youth Squad "Promotions"

In my recent game with FM, I did not get any youth squad promotions at the end of my first year. Is this normal? In CM 4, it seems I would get four or five promotions ever year from the youth academy. I am playing of the Vauxhall Motors formerly of the Conference North. I won promotion in my first year.

Of course, I only have a wage budget of $4,600 p/w so I need all the talent I can get which is why I was wondering.

depends on how full your roster was. With a conference North team (even with promotion), it might just be you have crappy faciliities

Even as top ranked teams, I dont get any promotions.

I usually got one a season and they'd pop up at random times. You do need a youth academy to get them.

Also, at least in CM 03/04, I would only get them if I had cut some youth players or reserve players to "make room" for the new young players.
