Should I be scared?

I was just fooling around and taking one of those online death test things that pretend to tell you when you are going to die.

The thing is, they normally do it like 30-60 years later, but the one I just took didn't the first time.

It said July 2, 2003.

On July 2nd, I'm supposed to be on a plane from Greenville to Illinois.

I took it like 4 more times, and it all gave like 40-60 years into the future, but do I have a right to be freaked out, I mean those things really shouldn't spit out dates like that.

Make sure you take Dante's Inferno Test before you go, then you can pack a bag to take with you depending on where you're off to.

Did it list "plane crash" as the cause of death?

If you are going to die on July 2, it doesn't matter what you do. So, if you need to fly somewhere you might as well give it a shot.

Easy Mac I think it is only fair to the other passengers on the plane that you notify them. I don't think it's to fair that only you know the results of your plane flight.

Maybe the other passengers are going to throw him out of the plane.

True true. I can see it now. Easy decides not to fly and sits there thinking, "Whew, I'm sure glad I dodged that bullet," right before his place of residence explodes.

Wow, that's freaky as hell...

And as anyone who's seen Final Destination knows, you can't cheat death. So you might as well enjoy the hell out of the next three weeks. No reason to die unhappy...

Take advantage of this. Go to the Make-A-Wish foundation, tell them you're gonna die in a month and that your last dying wish is for FOX to bring back the Family Guy.

As I mentioned above, I am very scared of flying, been that way since long before 9/11.

I've taken 1 plane ride before when I was like 16. I was scared, but just sat there the whole 2.5 hours, waiting for something to happen. You would think I'd be fine with it now, but I'm still not.

What I'm wondering is, is my fear irrational? I am just afraid of being in such a huge situation without any control over whether I live or die. I mean, I can't control how the pilot will fly, nor could I survive if something went horrendously wrong.

The counter to this would be why I am not scared to ride in a car with other people. I feel that at least there, Something can go horrendously wrong, but at least my seatbelt can theoretically save my life... I don't think a seatblet in a plane is going to save my life in a crash.

So my question is, is my fear natural/logical; and will I ever get over it, seeing as how I've already flown perfectly before? Or is this something I'll just have to deal with the rest of my life?

You are much safer in a plane. It's the fact that you aren't in control that bothers you.

But just in case, I wouldn't procrastinate in filling out those organ donor cards.

Yeah, right, like there are going to be any organs left to salvage after the plane crashes...

At least buy one of those life insurance policies you find for $1 at the airport.

I read a story a number of years ago about a guy who wore a cheese head in a plane crash and it saved his life.

My parents were both private pilots at one point. We had a good way to get the blood flowing of any friends that flew with us for the first time in our little Cessna. Just cruise along, and without warning, throw the stick (well, we had a wheel) in and do a nice, quick hundred foot drop. I'm guessing Easy Mac would not have enjoyed that.

As Kodos pointed out, you are much safer flying than driving around on the surface of this rock with all the idiots.

Actually, I would never want to fly with private pilots. They're the ones who always crash.

JFK Jr.
John Denver.
Harrison Ford (he's crashed his plane once or twice, right?)
Yada yada yada.

Mac, there are very few inflight accidents. Of course, the ones that do crash are nearly 100% fatal.

Hahah. Those are the crashes because those are the majority of the flights. If the vast majority of cars driven were of a particular model, you'd say those are the ones that always crash.

I suspect part of it is also the fact that commercial airplanes are better maintained. Plus, having professional pilots is a plus.

I just took the test and got the following results:

December 24, 2041
at the age of 68 years old.

On that date you will most likely die from:

Heart Attack (22%)
Cancer (15%)
Auto-Fellatio (12%)
Suicide (8%)
Alien Abduction (7%)
Horrible Accident (6%)
Homicide (6%)

I think Alien Abduction is the darkhorse factor.
