Questions About FM???
In my FM campaign, Bruce Arena retired as coach and the USA team offered lil ol' me the job. (seriously, I am currently running Carlile in the First League in Englnad - two steps below the Premiership. Why me?)
I've never coached a national side before, and I assume that there are several major differences. Where can I find a guide to running a national side? -Anxiety

It could be you listed your nationality as US, making you a rarity in the world.

I don't think there's a guide, just go with the flow

Seems remarkably easy to get offered a national job in the new game, I've messed about with a few careers and been offered my national job in the second season a few times.

I'm currently the French national team manager in my current game, and my nationality is English. Good luck getting that to happen IRL

Another question - is there a guide somewhere with the rules for the different leagues? How many internationals, do EU players count, substitute size, etc.

I'm assuming you want them outside of the game, but these are all available within the game. When on the league table, to the upper right go to the "VIEW" dropdown and select "Rules"... FM

Yeah, I'd like a list outside the game so I can puruse and compare easily. -Anxiety

Don't mean to interrupt the intent of the thread, but I'm curious, in FM can are national teams from small caribbean countries such as St. Kitts & Nevis and Barbados available? Also, what about Guyana (CONCACAF member actually located in northwestern South America?
Also, what are some of the smallest countries out there that offer domestic play in FM? Thanks for the info!

I just got offered the USA National job. I am manager of the Moor Green squad, who are sitting in English Conference North!!! (It is the middle of the 3rd season. In the first season, I got the Moors promoted to Conf. National, then in season 2, I got us relegated back to Conference North.)
I turned the job down too.

No, you have to have a certain amount of players in the database to make them a playable nation.. As for the smallest nations.. hmm.. Americas: Peru/Uruguay/Chile Europe: Northern Ireland/Ireland/Croatia/Isreal Asia: None really.. India and China are not footy nations by any stretch of the imagination, but no one can call them small

Yes although unless you've customised the database using the editor its unlikely you'll be able to manage them yourself (there's a minimum number of players required to be 'active' in order to be able to manage a national side). |

It seems like you have to have a certian set up to get these job offers for National teams, because I have never had an offer with my main two careers I have run.
I was a Scottish man, running a Northern Ireland team, very successful IMO. Now I am from Venezuela and running a Columbian team in which I am once again pretty successful again, although I am still early into this one. No offers in either, although I hope to get the Venezuelan job one day since I had those players included in the database. So, with going with these smaller clubs in smaller countries, is seems to definetly have prevented any major attention from my 'home country'.
