Must-See TV: Charles Barkley's colonoscopy

FOX Sports on MSN - NBA - Must see TV? Barkley colonoscopy to be televised

We may not know what Shaq's tastes like (or really care to, for that matter), but we're about to find out what Sir Charles' looks like.

According to a report in the Philadelphia Daily News, former NBA star Charles Barkley has been asked to undergo a televised colonoscopy as part of a "Stand Up to Cancer" special being aired Sept. 5 by NBC, CBS and ABC.

Barkley, who will undergo the procedure Friday, said he was happy to help promote awareness for colonoscopies, which screen for prostate and other cancers.

He also said that when he told his friend Fred Lavner about being asked to participate in the special, Lavner replied they were "probably just looking for the celebrity with the biggest ass."

Nice that he is willing to do this to raise awareness. I hope this goes better for him than my last colonoscopy went. The doctor nicked something on a Friday which bled for the weekend while the on-call doctor told me I had nothing to be concerned about. When I called the real doctor on Monday with my concerns, I was thrilled to hear him tell me to "go to urgent care immediately".
