Bands On the Run 2
P-p-p-pussy pussy, pussy pussy pussy CAT! FASTER PUSSYCAT have agreed to shoot a pilot for VH1's "Bands on the Run 2" the first week of November. The show is a contest between FASTER PUSSYCAT and another undisclosed '80s rock band. "The pilot involves us promoting and playing a show somewhere in the U.S. announced last minute," according to FASTER PUSSYCAT. "They could send us anywhere. The winner is determined by the band that has the biggest turnout and sells the most merch. The dates are Nov. 30th through Dec. 4th." As previously reported, FASTER PUSSYCAT guitarist Brent Muscat was recently diagnosed with oral cancer. Muscat, 38, is best known for his work as one of the dual guitarists in FASTER PUSSYCAT, but has also done stints with ADLER'S APPETITE (led by former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler), and a Los Angeles-based group named FIZZY BANGERS.

Hey, don't blame me because the dude goes by Taime... Any chance this signals a resurgence of Taime's buddy, Rikki Rachtman (sp?)?

He's still around. I don't know what he's doing these days, since I think he and Taime no longer own the Cat Club (or it doesn't exist anymore). There are only so many 80's nostalgia specials one can film. Maybe he'll be the host for Bands on the Run 2.

I used to like them. I don't think I've heard either of their albums in years. I actually liked the second album better - any band that can pull off a song with the chorus "Blow my whistle, rock me little dove / Rock my missile, blow me little dove," deserves my respect.

I loved this show. It'd be so much better if they still had like the 3 or 4 unknown bands from throughout the country.

I once sold a set of ink cartridges to Taime Down. I was working at an Office Depot downtown. They were playing at 1st Ave which was across the street.
Cool guy. We talked for a couple minutes about Palms and stuff. edit: Forgot to mention that he was gracious enough to sign something. I greeted him by saying "hey Taime, how's it going?!"
