CFL Spygate

So up here in Canada we have our own mini-spygate happening, where a Winnipeg Blue Bomber scout was caught taking notes in the stands during Hamiton Tiger-Cat practice this week. It's not really to the level of the Belichick thing, but its still created a little mini-controversy.

Anyways, the best part of this is the following video, in which our new head coach, who is quite the a-hole to the media, refused to address the issue while lecturing the media with a shit-eating-grin on his face.

We just need someone to make a Press-Hop video with this included

I remember one time Greg Brady found a rival highschool player's playbook that he had left lying around. After much soul searching, he decided to return it.

Even as a small boy, I disagreed with Greg's decision. I thought it was totally the fault of the idiot player that left his playbook lying around.

Same thing here. Was this a closed practice? If not, they should have noticed the guy with the notebook. Was it open? Then it was open, and fair game.

I'm not sure if the practice was 'open' or 'closed'. He lied and told them he was from some local school and was trying to get tips, but they recognized him from the press-box of an earlier game and called him on it.

The 'controversy' is really not that big a deal, mostly media jumping on something to put in print. I just really loved the video clip above. "Not an issue, handled internally, not talking about it" over and over, it cracked me up, especially the grin on his face for the first minute or so.

Hmmm...maybe the Eskimos should take a page out of their book and actually see if they can sneak a real football team into the stadium...

Sorry, we took all your good players during the off-season from what our coach tells us.

Spygate really wasn't important, the Patriots were just well prepared.
