Games includes video games, text sims, whatever.

Baseball has the best combination in my opinion with multiple quality text sims including the OOTP series and you have the Show which is the best sports video game out there.

As I am more of a text sim guy these days, I'd have to say baseball. Though for playing against someone you know on the couch next to you, probably football would be more fun (especially college games with fun and vastly different offenses to choose from).

D'oh. Knew I was forgetting at least one.

Hell, I had Horse Racing in there, before I opted to remove it.

OOTP means baseball wins.

Baseball arguably has the best management sim (OOTP) and best action game (the Show).

Soccer might take the crown for 2010 depending on how much the new FM/FIFA PS360/PES Wii improve on previous versions.

Madden has improved a lot but football needs a new NFL management sim to put it up with baseball and soccer.

I'm a big fan of the new Tiger Woods game with Motion Plus and am looking forward to NBA2k10 in a few months after taking a few years off from that series.

It's been a pretty good year for sports games.

Came down to baseball and hockey for me. The Show vs the NHL series line is pretty even and while I like OOTP, the heavy edge goes to EHM for me.

Came someone sell me on The Show and its greatness? I've yet to fall in love with any action baseball game because it always seems that despite the prevalence of sliders and whatnot, I always end up with a baseball game that either I can't hit at all or hit nothing but homeruns and I either pitch no hitters or give up 8 unearned runs a game with shoddy defense.

What does The Show do differently that makes it so much better?

I'm asking because I would like to enjoy a baseball game as much as I have enjoyed past incarnations of EA's NCAA football series.

Football for me. I can watch football from college to the pros and I watch a lot of games outside of my own team. Can't say that for the other sports. For video games, football holds my interest a lot longer than the other sports games and although people have been seen the flaws of FOF, I have played that game and TCY longer than any other sim.

Baseball. This sport was made for the text sim genre. The board games that are out there are fantastic. And you get the games like "The Show".

Baseball is by far the best game out there for games.

I also prefer the EHM series. Still play it to this day, even though no plans on a new release (damn you sega). Baseball mogul isn't too bad, along with FOF. Hated football mogul, don't play soccer sims, and the DDS basketball games from Wolverine are pretty good too. OOTP is decent but, yes, rather bloated for my taste.

Haven't played console sports games in a long time, they are just too unrealistic for me to stay interested.

I was surprised soccer wasn't on the list as well.

I think baseball wins. With the wide range of both action-based and text-based games, there's gonna be something that hits that sweet spot for just about everybody.
