Yup, that's indeed a myth.

So is the one about birds dive bombing into the turf thinking it's water.

Before the hook-and-ladder, the Statue of Liberty and "Will you marry me?", Boise State's football program was known mostly for the blue artificial turf in Bronco Stadium.

According to legend, birds have flown into the blue turf, mistaking it for water. This has never been confirmed, although Petersen said, "We do our best to perpetuate that myth, so to speak.

"But the other day, before we leave, I walk out onto our turf and there is a dead duck laying there in the middle of our field. And I'm looking around like 'Are you kidding me?' Maybe they are still dive-bombing here. So I'm not sure, but we did have one dead on the turf the other day."

Doubt it. I can't imagine they'd get enough votes to pass legislation on that and at what level? Meh. Most schools would never think to do it anyway, the few that would are just using it as a way to stand out and if Oregon can have 1000 different jerseys, I doubt the NCAA cares about fields.

What a horrific idea. I'm wondering though if Red would repell more light than green, or absorb more. All I know is the RoyGBiv thing, and Red is obviously farther up the spectrum than green.
