Black Friday - What'd you get

I decided to stock up on TV shows:

Shield Seasons 2-6
Rescue Me Seasons 1-4

16 bucks a pop at Best Buy

Band of Brothers on Blu Ray - 75 bucks

Tropic Thunder on Blu Ray - 20 bucks

All told I spent like 220 or something.

I'm content.

Whatabout everyone else?

I got four seasons of Entourage at $9.99 each and bought a Blu-Ray player for my mom and dad.

I was going to get a game or three but they were all full price so that can wait.

Mostly copied from the Amazon thread:

I actually stayed up until 3 (well, I was watching a movie until 2 so 3 wasn't a big deal) for Amazon's Black Friday games and got the following:

$30 Fallout 3 (PC)
$20 Boom Blox (Wii)
$10 Resident Evil 4 (Wii)
$10 N+ (DS)

And I bought some games from the EBGames B2G1 on Wednesday since they started a day early so I didn't worry about shopping at all today

Fuck Black Friday. It's a bullshit concept that has been built up to mythic proportions over that last couple of decades, and the buildup of this as an "event" has become a vicious cycle of self-fulfilling prophecy of frenzy - witness the shootings and the trampling/heart-attack incidents today.

Is Cyber-Monday for real? Will Amazon have DVDs (for example) at a discount or on special, compared to today or other days?

Grabbed a 19" LCD tv/computer monitor for my daughter. Now she can stop using the 21" TV my parents bought for the family TV when I was 11. I didn't even have a TV in my room in high school, spoiled brat. She can also use it as her monitor for her laptop now, since I kind of broke the monitor on it. Got her a 6'x4' soccer goal to practice with. Got her a Wii game, don't remember which one. Got myself a PS3 game and one of those video game chairs with wireless speakers. It was a good deal and I like it more then I would have thought. Almost got a new PC and almost got a new family TV, but we backed off of those. The TV has been something we have been building up to getting so we probably get one over the next couple months or so.

DeTox got Band of Brothers on Blu-Ray? I am jealous. I have the DVD set, but knowing that is out there may mean I have to pick it up sometimes down the road anyways.

32" TV for the bedroom. Sears didn't have it in stock by the time we'd gotten there (about 2:30pm), but they ordered it for us, and we'll be able to pick it up on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. I'm happy with that. I also went bowling afterwards and bowled a pair of 200+ games, so I'm also happy with that. Good day. Good day.

Yeah man. Looks awesome too. I just watched the first episode. Highly suggest it.

Plus, HBO is doing a new miniseries this year called "The Pacific" from Tom Hanks and the guys behind Band of Brothers. It's about 3 marines doing battle with the Japanese in the Pacific during WW II. I'm all fired up for that.

Didn't get anything because of the sales tax being nearly double what it is back home, but I found stuff to put on my Christmas list and got a few gift ideas for people.

Oof. That player's going to be $129 pretty much everywhere the week before Christmas. Hope she didn't miss out on deals anywhere else to get it.

Got to Best Buy around 5:00 am to get the Garmin GPS for $119 and a Razor phone for the wife ($49). Picked up Entorage season 2-3 for $10 each. And Assassins Creed for the PC for $10. Got the baby a pretty sweet wooden train set from Toy-R-Us for $80 - comes with the train set and a decent size table. That's about it.. lines and the people were pretty calm.

I didn't have to go out on Friday. On Wednesday, Sam's had a one time buy on a Vizio 42" LCD with 1080p for $698, so I grabbed it then.

Has to run to Wal Mart today for some cucumbers for the pregnant wife, and checked to see if they had any more Boom Blox since yesterday. They sure did, so I grabbed on for the still $20 price. Great game for the whole family so far as we all just finished playing it together.

Two questions out of curiousity. Would you have bought this stuff had it not been on sale? How much did you save overall? It seems like "Black Friday" is a good way to spend $1000 you normally wouldn't have spent just to "save" a hundred bucks.
