3.4 GB of your phone or ipad used for this monster? Seems pretty crappy to take up would could be almost half of a person's phone just using the software.

Not saying you're wrong but that's not what I've been reading. I hope you're right to be honest. Last edited by rowech : 09-18-2013 at 05:06 PM. |

Seems as if a lot of people are saying it really won't work very well on even an iPhone 4S.

Working fine on my 4s. Underwhelmed so far, though.

Most of what I've read said there are some terrible lags on the 4.

I can't get the control center to swipe up from the bottom of my iPhone 5. Anyone had any luck with that?

Generally like the upgrade. The most frustrating new feature for me is the expanded email inboxes. It seems the ability to sync inboxes to a set number of messages has been removed. Two issues from this. One, I'm not sure how much space on the phone all of these messages are hogging. Two, of greater personal annoyance, I have a lot of old unread yahoo mail messages that show in my unread email count now. I'm sure I can mark all of these as read, but I don't really want to do that.

FINALLY! The iPhone sorts music by date. When you click on Artist sort, it lists all the albums in chronological order. Now when I have 10 albums from an artist that I'm not extremely familiar with, I don't have to open each album one at a time to see the release date before listening.

fucking a, this is a HUGE annoyance it looks like they had an ability to limit emails at some point in the beta, but that appears to be gone. I hope this was taken out by accident http://blog.laptopmag.com/how-to-use-mail-in-ios-7

I attempted to update my iPad last night and now I'm stuck at the boot screen (Apple logo with progress bar below it). The progress bar is stuck at ~60-70%
I then attempted to recover using iTunes. iTunes reinstalled the update, but still got stuck at the same point after rebooting. FML

I checked that this morning on mine, I've got a 2013 Honda CRV, and it did work. I would be very pissed if it didn't.

ooh, that's cool. I'd been putting the year in front of the album title so I could do that. Does that mean itunes does it, too? |

I have a second complaint. The update linked my wife's and my phone for iMessage purposes, so I'm getting all of her texts from others with iPhones. We share an Apple ID. Haven't had time to research whether there is a way to unlink these.
Her boyfriends are going to be pissed. |

You can unlink them, but you need to have a separate Apple ID.
You can still share the same ID for purchases, but need to have separate IDs for messaging and iCloud features. FWIW, that isn't new with this update, I first encountered it when they rolled our iCloud services.

So, actually a pretty easy fix for my second issue. In the settings for messages (and facetime, actually) you can deselect other phone numbers or e-mail addresses.

I have a Honda that has both USB and bluetooth connectivity. Previously I could select the output right on the phone but can't find it yet. Hopefully it's just buried one menu level in. Also when I unplug my phone from the USB dock it loses the spot and does not have the "Now Playing" screen to go back to. So if I don't remember what song I was listening to when I get to work, I can't continue once I hit my desk. |

I was kind of hoping it would fix the "showing the wrong album art for the now playing song" thing, but, alas, no such luck

So the update effed up my ipad and I had to do a factory reset and lost all my pics and videos. No iCloud backup either.

Sometimes I hate changes when they make things worse.
1. On a 4s, how do I get rid of the large bar at the bottom of each screen? I don't have anything in there so it's just an empty space. 2. It looks like it put all of my albums on, which I didn't want it to do. I don't use iCloud and auto sync is off so why did it do that? Do I just connect it to iTunes to get it back to the way I had it? 3. In usage, I don't see Cellular Usage. Where do I find that? |

For #3, it's under Settings/Cellular (e.g. don't go under Settings/General like it used to be)

For #1 are you talking about the Dock? I don't think you can rid of that. Just throw phone, messages, chrome, and email in there.

Found the answer to #2. In Settings->iTunes & App Store, Show All music and videos will be on by default. Turning them off will only show what has been downloaded to the phone.

I'm enjoying it. Definitely not as refined an algorithm as Pandora, but commercials are much more spaced out, UI is better, and I don't have to listen to the same damned panera bread commercial on infinite loop. |

I haven't upgraded my 4s yet, but my visually impaired friend asked me to try and figure a bunch of stuff out for him. A lot of his accessibility features aren't quite what they used to be. All in all, I found the upgrade to be very android like. The deal is, the simplicity of IOS was one of Apple's strengths. I didn't care for the Android OS. Why would I want one on my iPhone. I have the feeling Steve Jobs would have stopped this $#!% in its tracks. |

FWIW my wife has a Iphone 4...and has had no issues, in fact says it seems faster.
Ive read some theorys that hard drive space is to blame, she has the 16gb model and has less than 1 GB free..so not sure about that either. |

I do not understand the trend. Here we have very high resolution mobile devices, some even with retina displays, and they decided to regress back to the days of VGA resolution with its icons? And the dock areA has lost its full transparency? Why? Also, even though I set the text to bold, there are many screens that has thin black or gray text on white or light gray. Why was this a good idea?
