I am starting:
Brees Lynch S Holmes Boldin Crumpler Kaeding I can start one more WR/RB out of: Chris Chambers, Ronnie Brown, Bernard Berrian, Sidney Rice, Rudi Johnson, Kenny Watson & Bryant Johnson. Leaning towards Chambers. Any other thoughts?

I would put Chambers too, he should do well this year if he wants to prove that he is a top receiver besides some spectacular catches from time to time. R.Brown will get carries but the starter will be Ricky Williams.

This is the first year in a long time I didn't get a chance to do fantasy football. I miss it already.

I think Chambers is the only guy there where there's more of a chance of him doing alright versus the other guys. No one really know how the Dolphins or Bengals will use their RBs yet, and I'd give the other WRs a week or two to see how they do with their teams.

Ronnie, I would start Galloway. He has a history of destroying the Saints.

I'm having a struggle of my own. Favre or Hasselbeck? Jets play the weak Dolphins that have no Taylor or Thomas this year. Their secondary only allowed about 185 yards passing a game last year BUT 28 TDs. The Seahawks play the Bills, who allowed about 240 yards passing a game but only 18 tds. Thoughts?

Interesting one. Palmer vs. Kitna
I have a feeling Kitna will have a big game and the Ravens defense can be tough.

Favre vs. Hasselbeck
I'd probably go with Favre. Hasselbeck is probably the higher ranked player, but who is he throwing to-- Burleson and ????? and add in Buffalo is a much better defense. Favre has a good matchup against Miami and has his top 2 WRs. Kitna vs. Palmer I'd probably still stick with Palmer. If anything, Cincy should have an easier time throwing than running, IMO. Reed is still Reed, but those CBs are a year older, and weren't great last season. Palmer might throw some picks that hurt, but should have a ton of opportunities to rack up yardage.

I like Kitna too, he and Warner might have their best matchups of the season this week, I'd put both of them in over guys like Palmer, Hasselbech. I think Warner's going to through 3+ TDs today, and he's available in a lot of leagues. Last edited by molson : 09-07-2008 at 10:58 AM. |

Thanks for the advice guys. Jon Kitna just got dropped in our league, should I drop Favre and pick him up for the rest of the way? As I said before, my other QB is Hasselbeck.
Scoring is 1 pt. per 20 yds passing, 6 pts for a td, -2 for a int/fumble, 1 pt. per 10 yds rushing Last edited by PurdueBrad : 09-07-2008 at 11:14 AM. |

I don't know if that is any sort of upgrade, from Favre to Kitna.

Should've made the switch... Palmer = 0 points; Kitna = 15 points.
Don't think it will matter in the result.

I think both Forte and Ward are going to be great this year. Manning was so-so on Sunday, but Palmer was miserable. Jones should be decent as well, but I think you gave up way too much for them.

What positions do you start weekly?
Is he interested in Bowe at all? While Huard will be an upgrade from Croyle, I can't believe that Bowe can continue to put up numbers while being the only weapon on that team.

QB - 1/1 RB - 1/2 WR - 1/4 TE - 1/2 PK DEF Would it be a good trade if you substituted Bowe for Ward? He said he was looking at Bowe, but preferred Ward. |

FYI for those that might be in a big league that uses a lot of players. Huard and Thigpen will be splitting time at QB for the Chiefs........
ESPN - Huard to start Sunday, but Thigpen may play soon - NFL |

I am looking at it as- T Jones = Forte - Chicago might run more as the Chicago offense stinks, but Jones will catch passes. So you are left with Palmer + WR = Manning I think Ward is too much to give up there. Of course, all of this is assuming you believe Manning turns it around.

Yes. And Yes. At least my opinion. He still has TJ, Ocho and eventually Chris Henry to throw to. I just don't like to jump ship after one week.

My week 2 lineup question is, not surprisingly, the same as my week 1 question.
I will start: Brees Lynch S Holmes Boldin Fasano (FA pickup, dropped Crumpler) Kaeding ARI Def I have a flex spot open for one of the following motley crew- Chris Chambers, Bernard Berrian, Sid Rice, Bryant Johnson, Ronnie Brown, Rudi Johnson and Kenny Watson. I used Chambers last week, and he got me 10+ points...but all on one play, the 44 yard TD. Chambers will face, in theory, a good Denver secondary. Watson has an awful matchup vs. TEN Johnson...he plays for the 49ers Brown and Johnson are not starters (yet) Berrian and Rice...I am intrigued. But they still have Tavaris Jackson throwing to them. Mushin Muhammed is available as a FA.

Rather than start another thread, looking for advice..
I need to fill RB1, RB2, and RB-WR (always a RB of course) and I have to pick from these 5: Will McGahee Kevin Smith Jerious Norwood Darren Sproles Ahman Green I can pretty much eliminate Ahman Green immediately, it's the other 4 that are causing me issue. What 3 would you play?
