Netflix Question

I'm just curious as to how it is that I've rated 243 items on Netflix and I've gotten a total of 1 movie recommendation (a movie, which incidentally, I have, but haven't watched yet) and 5 TV show recommendations.

I expect my 5*'ing The Wire is largely responsible for the TV shows, based on my study of why it was recommended.

But really, only 1 movie? A little discouraging so far.

Since the just finished a competition that improved their recommendations maybe it is that you have either seen all of their recommendations or just have a really unique movie personality.

Hrmmm. I've got 1813 movies rated and 19 suggestions....definitely less than I used to have.

I went through and re-rated some movies and we're up to 4 suggestions based on 358 films, so I wonder if some of this is in how each of us individually rates movies on a 1-5 scale.
