IWS #39 Results

Congratulations to msf518, who scored a perfect 487424 (and was the very first entry)!

edit: Ok, no he didn't, I forgot Maple Leafs' entry!! :o

The results:

1. Name a song recorded by the King, Elvis Presley.
Hound Dog - 7
Blue Suede Shoes - 5
Love Me Tender - 2
Don't Be Cruel - 2
Heartbreak Hotel - 2
Jailhouse Rock - 2
A Little Less Conversation - 1
Suspicious Minds - 1

I thought this would be an interesting question, and it was. MIJB, you deserve extra points for being the only one to list A Little Less Conversation, one of my favorites. I thought it might have more votes, considering how it was featured in Everybody Loves Raymond last week....

2. Name a villain who is a member of the Legion of Doom.

Lex Luthor - 17
Bizzarro - 2
Riddler - 1
Dr. Doom - 1
Animal - 1

Turned into a runaway, Lex was too obvious a choice I guess. Shorty - was Animal meant to be Grodd? Here's a page I found for the LOD - http://members.aol.com/SprFriends/bios-lod.htm

3. Name a card game.

Poker - 17
Blackjack - 3
Solitaire - 1
Craps - 1

Hmm, I didn't get too specific with this (Texas Hold 'Em for instance), and neither did you guys.

4. Name a European (or traditionally European) automobile nameplate. (edit: clarification; American examples would be Ford, Mercury, Oldsmobile, Saturn, Plymouth, Jeep, Eagle, Chevy, etc)

BMW - 9
Mercedes (Benz) - 6
Ferrari - 2
Jaguar - 1
Saab - 1
Aston Martin - 1
Volvo - 1
Porche - 1

A battle of the German big-boys (where were you, Porche?).

5. Complete the following: GENERAL __________

Motors - 5
Discussion - 4
Store - 2
Lee - 2
Patton - 2
Tommy Franks - 2
Manager - 1
Mills - 1
Electric - 1
Sherman - 1
Mayhem - 1

Another one which was all over the place. Funny, one of the first ones I thought of was 'Admission'. Thought Mills and Electric would have done better. I didn't even think of 'Discussion', even though we're in the General Discussion forum.

6. Estimate the average FOFC member age

25 - 9
27 - 3
30 - 2
20 - 2
28 - 1
24 - 1
32 - 1
18 - 1
26 - 1
22 - 1

It's interesting to me that there weren't more round numbers (multiples of 5). I have no idea what the real average is, but if someone cares to find out....

And so I pass the IWS belt to msf518, who has united the IWS and MMR titles (until later today, anyway)!:o

Wow... I've gone from winning, to middle-of-the-pack, to not even counting.

(cuervo, I think you left my entry out. I wouldn't have done well and I don't think I would have affected the results, but I would have prevented msf518's prefect score, which in an odd way would make me feel better about myself.)

Damn, you're right Maple Leafs! I knew I got yours too, but I probably checked it at home and then forgot to add it at work? I'll amend the results.

Legion Of Doom - Hawk and Animal from the WWF days is the only LOD I knew of.

Oops, sorry about that. I guess the Superfriends/Legion of Doom was before the time of some of our members, now that I think of it.

I looked it up on Yahoo! and found Legion of Doom DC Comics, Legion of Doom Rap Label, Legion of Doom wrestlers, and so forth.

I guessed you meant comix, but I had no clue.

How do you do it, MIJB?
I guess my awnsers say it all, I have correct awnsers, but rather the #2 or #3 awnsers in stead of the hot shots.
For instance
- 26 in stead of 25 as average age
- Mercedes over BMW
- blackjack over poker
- general manager, howcome others forgot this one, we're a FOF community!
- A little less conversation, the remix was a big hit last summer all over the world thanks to the World Cup!
- lex luthor was a google awnser, the choice was based on chosing the most familiar name listed

Dola.

If the person running IWS#40 wants me in there, you'd better put the deadline to next Monday (I'll be on vacation until Sunday.)

Hey, 5th isn't too bad for my initial entry into this thing. I think Love Me Tender screwed me up.
