Now THERE'S a random thought - or a few of them strung together.

Haha! It reminded me of browsing wikipedia and the chain of following links from one article to another.

Occasionally I have to turn ad-blocker off in order to see something work-related (like my own ads).

It doesn't take long for me to realize how dramatically different (i.e. better) it makes my browsing experience.

If it didn't exist I seriously think my amount of online time would be significantly less, the amount of clutter is astonishing. Probably explains why average clickthru rates aren't what they used to be.

It's not even the clutter that drove me to block ads(which is indeed awful), it was that the ads themselves were the slowest loading aspects of any given page. "Waiting for adserver.com to respond.....". Blocking them significantly increases page load speed.

At least that was the case the last time I made that switch, haven't compared with and without ads for a long time now.

One young blonde woman ran into me in the cafeteria about a month ago and begged me to visit her desk and say hello sometime. I finally worked up the nerve to do that today, and I'm not sure exactly what I said, but I think it came out sounding like "hurf flurf" and I said something about how I wanted to be a Care Bear when I was a child. The five-minute conversation ended with her looking at me quizzically while she likely wondered why the hell she asked me to talk to her in the first place.

The strange part is that she'll probably beg me to try again before Christmas. I can't help being awesome.
Revisiting this 8 months later, I stopped by the blonde's desk today to say hi. She lit up and told me how happy she was to see me. I can't remember what I said this time either, but it was again similar to "hurf flurf." She was still smiling when I left her desk, though, so life is good.

Hurf flurf, baby. Hurf flurf.

What if a baby was born on a ship, in international waters, to American parents on a boat registered in say, Panama? Would the child be a dual citizen?

Good question. Before the child is even named, they'd better establish which damn soccer team he's going to cheer for.

By the way, FOFC comes up with the stupidest arguments ever.

Very good point. Is Panama's team even any good?

How do you feel about arena football? And by arena football, I mean indoor soccer.

I don't know, it seems people can't agree on whether Panama's team is any good either.

And I hate arena football. Everyone who enjoys it should get slapped across the face. Love indoor soccer, though.

Those people are idiots. Wait, no, they're are not idiots (don't want to get boxed). The people that should be boxed are the people that don't like indoor soccer. And by boxed, I mean hit by Mike Tyson in his prime.

Of course they have to reshoot the pilot because Damon Wayans Jr. is already in another show... But it looks like it could be good.

Housing market woes, decades of hurricanes, the greatest assembled talent in NBA history but no title, all connected to Florida. The explanation is simple: George Anthony.

I rest my case

So next time the kids are screaming for Sponge Bob, think about the benefits another type of bob. The head bob.

That may well be the stupidest and most awkward attempt at a joke I've ever read.

I wonder if a feeling up is a "detested act" too or is it just the horrible depravity of blowjobs? Seriously I expected something much more interesting given that headline.

Naa... It was at work and she's really not my type. When you jokingly decline & end up in an argument over whether or not you should feel her up, being accused of being gay, a wimp, etc. And end up doing it just to shut her up, it has all the appeal of touching a table lamp.

And yes, she did critique me. She said I sucked at it. (Probably didn't help that I put more into squeezing mellons at the grocery store & after about four seconds asked "Are you happy now?")

Wow, just wow. Driving into work this morning on the extremely twisty, turny road that has several blind turns and no shoulder...a guy riding his bike with his kid on the back of the bike. The kid was maybe 2. There is literally no shoulder on any side of the road for most of the drive to work. One side is where the hill meets the road and the other side is where the hill continues to go down into a little valley. Now, if you were to go closer to the freeway (where the residential area is), there's plenty of shoulder and sidewalks you could ride your bike. Nope, I hardly EVER see anyone riding their bikes there. Oh and guess what?? There's bike lanes there too!!

There's at least 2 or 3 bad accidents a month on that road. Something tells me that a portion of those accidents are caused because a car is coming around one of the several blind turns and has to swerve to avoid hitting someone on a bike and ends up swerving into the oncoming lane since there is nowhere else to go.

Honestly, I feel sorry for no one that rides their bike on the part of the road that has no shoulder and gets hit. Sounds fucked up, but, it's just common sense that, that is an extremely dangerous place to try and ride a bike. I feel the same level of remorse that I would have if some idiot was playing with a stick of dynamite next to a giant camp fire, that's surrounded by chain smokers setting off fireworks.

Got a box of Rice-a-Roni out the cupboard. Started it to cooking. Looked at it & thought how funny it was that the little dark spices looked similar to these little bugs i find dead on the counter sometimes. Looked at the box. There were no little dark spices. Looked in the box & saw a couple of those little dark spices moving.

Now I'm cooking Zatarains Yellow Rice mix.

Honestly, I feel sorry for no one that rides their bike on the part of the road that has no shoulder and gets hit. Sounds fucked up, but, it's just common sense that, that is an extremely dangerous place to try and ride a bike. I feel the same level of remorse that I would have if some idiot was playing with a stick of dynamite next to a giant camp fire, that's surrounded by chain smokers setting off fireworks.

me and my kids almost got nailed by a biker last night. We were crossing a fairly busy street in a crosswalk. The car stopped and we started across. All of a sudden, this biker - with no lights - races past us, narrowly missing myself and my daughter. really pissed me off, as we would have been seriously hurt if he/she had hit us.

Agreed. I love em. It's not something I can eat ALL the time, but every few months they are fucking awesome. I've had the same reaction as you, and for the most part everybody that was brave enough to try them walked away very satisfied.

Casey Anthony verdict in, due to be read at 215pm.

For the random portion of this, I can't help but think of poor HLN, I know they've been enjoying the huge ratings bump but a return to irrelevancy is about a day away.
