Im sure Clemson wouldnt want you attempting the game tying field goal in that case.

But seriously yes it would suck if you werent confident. If you were confident at your job this is what you should want.

There was so much risk with that kick. It gets missed, Bama has a shot at a hail mary to win the game. It worked out though.

Saban pissed about the pick play on the last play. I'm sure he'll be on the rules committee over that. He won't mention the clear hold on the Hurd TD run.

What an amazing football game. So, so happy Saban went down.

Biggest play may have been Scarborough going down with the injury. Bama seemed to completely change offensively at that point.

And that prediction of mine takes absolutely nothing away from Clemson.

It's simply my reaction to the outcome of tonight's game & my expectations for his ability to meet expectations next year.

I grew up in western South Carolina and always liked Clemson - I wasn't a my blood runs orange type but I liked them and went to a fair number of games. When I was 12 and they went undefeated under Danny Ford in 1981 we thought it was the best thing ever.

It's been great seeing what Swinney has been able to do for the program and after last year's epic championship game, it's incredible seeing them on top of the mountain again after so many years. That's all I've got.

Hell of a ballgame. I might owe Dabo a bit as I got that one at +200 and it was the final part of a five game moneyline parlay of the New Year's Day bowl games and tonight at +1318. I definitely didn't expect to hit that.

Naw, they didn't change their offense so much as lost the only guy able to do anything consistently for them. Hurd played like a true freshman--outside of an easy to complete throw on a blown coverage to Howard and his RB style running TD, he was pretty subpar (both before and after Scarborough went down).

Not to take anything away from the kid, considering he is all of 18.

That wasn't pretty for a majority of the game last night, despite the 31 points they put up.

2-15 on third downs. The second half was essentially a blown coverage by Clemson and a two minute drill at the end.

At the time he left, Bama had ran 9 plays in the second half for a total of 27 yards. The last three possessions in the first half for Bama (not including the kneel down) consisted of 13 plays for 31 yards.

That's 58 yards in his last 22 plays. I think Clemson had figured it out. The blown coverage came a couple of plays after the injury. Clemson dominated that game for most of the night and almost lost due to a single defensive mistake. That's how good that Bama team is. Just frightening.

It was an awesome 4th quarter but people in the media need to pump the brakes on this one being better than USC-Texas.

I was hoping Saban would instruct his players to tackle every receiver over and over and over until Clemson gave up and tried to run it in.

Agree, I think the USC -Texas was a better game but this one was pretty high up there.

Maybe I'm wrong on it since it's kind of tough to see but I don't think it's offensive PI.

I agree. The defender tried going around the other DB and WR who were making contact with each other. If he tried fighting through it, maybe they would have gotten the call especially after that horrendous no-call on the other Clemson TD.

If anything it was defensive pass interference or holding. Greta play call run to perfection.

Alabama could not do a thing to stop that. No one could for that matter.

Absolute pandemonium in the top of my section in Raymond James last night. Of course.

Most of the fans sitting nearby just knew that with two minutes left Watson would lead then down and score.

Being a natural pessimist, I couldn't shake the image of a late pick, or the clock running out when they ran the last play.

But it didn't happen, and while yes I feel great for #4 who is just a great kid... But I feel the best for the Clemson fans. By and large great people who live and die with their team and I didn't want to see that dream die to Saban two years in a row.

What a trip! I know CU was there, but we just missed him! I'm sure he'll be along shortly!

Yeah I hate I didn't catch up with you guys butter.

I'm making that long 8.5 hour drive today on very little sleep with a huge smile on my face.

I want to post a few cool encounters a bit later, maybe tomorrow.

I can't believe it.

I captured a few pics and videos of the ending and aftermath I'll upload as well and share.
