Maybe they should have spent a litle more time with practice and less time shooting commercials...

I'm rooting for the 49ers to win it all. Harbaugh was my favorite player and I like the style they play. I don't dislike the Giants though.

Wondering if teams are going to start jumping off the crazy passing machine offenses we've seen this year.

Yah I'm on the 49ers bandwaggon too now, I guess. Not a major fan of any team really and just enjoy watching the games, but Packers are probably the team I enjoy watching the most.

Why? The Giants threw for almost 5000 yards in the regular season and over 300 today.

In all fairness, the biggest reason for that is probably the Giants complete inability to run the ball through most of the year. I don't think the Giants designed their offense to throw for that many yards.

It's like NASCAR dropping a yellow flag because of a loose bolt on the backstraight. It's designed to bring the pack closer.

You still need a franchise type of QB and a defense that can stop the other team's franchise QB. The Giants have that. San Fran might have that.

The Giants had the 27th ranked defense in the league (in yards allowed). 25th in points allowed.

Eh, the 49ers don't have a franchise type QB. That's stretching Smith, one game aside.

The Niners remind me of the Ravens Super Bowl team. Smith being a better version of Trent Dilfer.

But, the Giants defense were tied for 3rd in number of sacks, 6th in number of interceptions, so they did get pressure on the QB and caused turnovers.

This was also the case for the Packer defense. They gave up huge numbers but turnovers made them credible.

But they had injuries all year didn't they? To the D and Nicks and Bradshaw? They remind me of the Packers last year who came together at the right time and then got hot for the playoffs. Packers this year remind me of the Colts who wrap things up early and then just coast to the end. Rodgers and the receivers were off today and it cost them.

I'll stand by the defense comment. Numbers don't tell the full story there. They've got a great pass rush and a great turnover margin. Yes, a lot of yards/points but so much of that also put up in that horrific four week span.

They're a very good defense...not great but definitely good and one I would definitely take in the top half despite the yards/points numbers.

Especially the last five weeks, there has bean an improvement as well.

Packers were just too rusty. They didn't really play a meaningful game in the past month and it showed. I just think it was hard for them to dial back up the intensity given they won last year.

The Giants-49er game should be a good. I can't wait to hear how awful the 15-1 Packers were and everyone knew that - even though no one on ESPN picked the Giants

Bradshaw missed a few games, and the while key guys like Phillips, Rolle and Webster have been fine most of the year, they did lose pretty much all of their depth in the secondary. Losing Boley for a while was pretty painful too.
