Well, if the whistles blew before the ball hit the ground, then that's even more stupid. Heh.
Ah, well. Life moves on and I hope Alabama absolutely DEMOLISHES Texas. |

Contrary to last week, I'll give Morgan plenty of props for showing up tonight. And the three man line just saved our asses big time.

We'll find out at the NC game then. Texas needed questionable officiating to beat a team that barely hit 100 yards and had 5 first downs all game.

Like I said, we already saw Alabama beat the 2nd best team in the country earlier today, in the NCG they'll beat all amount of hell out of the 3rd best.

I still don't know Cincinnati doesn't have a better resume than Texas. Won a conference that 6 out of its 8 teams have winning records, with the top 4 having at least 8-4 records. They have a better non-conference slate than Texas, with wins over Oregon State and Fresno State. The Big 12 was down this year. TCU pretty much blew out all of its competition, including wins over Clemson and Virginia. Basically, it came down to how they started in the pre-season polls. Most likely scenario now is Clemson to the Peach and a WVU vs Va Tech Gator bowl. That's the game most WVU fans want to see.

He's a defensive player on a team that wasn't in the national championship hunt. Double his stats and he still wouldn't get even an invite to New York. It's going to go to McCoy or Ingram and I think both Suh and Spiller are more deserving. |

??? I haven't seen anything other than VT to the Peach since they get first choice, VT had an identical conference record to Clemson, will be higher ranked in the BCS, and it's even been longer since VT was in Atlanta ('07) than Clemson ('08)

TCU and Cincinnati have interesting arguments. I'm open to those. That little Florida you snuck in there is a *fucking* joke. How many wins do they have against ranked teams? One- LSU. Charleston Southern, Troy, Florida State, and Florida International in the non conference. All at home. Yeah. That's the second best team in the country right there?? Yeah, the Big XII is down this season. Only Nebraska and Oklahoma State are ranked right now so that's 2 ranked wins for Texas. For the non-conference, they played La-Monroe, at Wyoming, UTEP, and Central Florida. Nothing really exciting there, either. But you know what? Even if Texas gets blown out by Alabama- that means they will be equal to Florida. I seem to remember that happening a couple of hours ago. So there is no way on God's green earth that Florida deserves a spot there over Texas. SI

McCoy was exposed as a fraud tonight that padded his stats against cupcake defenses. Spiller is the best player in the nation but isn't on a top team. Ingram will probably win it because he's the best player on the best team.

ESPN, CBS, CFN/Scout/FoxSports all have VT. I haven't even heard Clemson mentioned for the spot anywhere at all. Not saying you haven't, just saying that it hasn't even been whispered anywhere within my earshot.

I don't know if Nebraska will remain ranked with another loss and Oklahoma State's ranking comes in part to Dez Bryant who no longer plays and didn't play in the game against Texas. Texas only played one tough road game and even got the Conference Championship in a psuedo-home game. |

I won't defend Texas at all, and I'll certainly be rooting for Alabama in the Championship game. But don't fall prey to knee jerk reactions. I don't see this Texas team getting blown out. Say what you want about Colt McCoy (I don't see him as an NFL QB at all the way some analysts do), but the kid is a gamer. I expect a tight one that Alabama pulls out at the end.

I think the problem with Ingram is he isn't MVP kind of huge for 'Bama in terms of needing him to win. If he doesn't play, 'Bama can very likely still win a game. Texas without McCoy and things get far more dicey. Yes, I know it's not an MVP award, but I wouldn't doubt he gets less votes because of it.

That is what I am hearing, as well. I guess VPI has already played in Atlanta twice this season (vs Alabama and @ GT), so the Chicken Bowl folks aren't sure that their fans will want to travel there again. Plus, it gives the ACC an excuse to not let Bowden and a 6-6 FSU team play in one of their NYD bowls. |
