I was thinking "They should run it, but they'll probably make a poor call and pass it". Awful call.

I agree. On the flipside, he is always the first to air out internal grievances with the press. He holds press conferences in his front yard and acts like a douche. He signs longterm contracts and threatens to hold out after one year. Don't know, maybe I am just in the minority in thinking on the field abilites aren't everything. All of Moss's transgressions were blown out of proportion and unlike Owens doesn't go out of his way to cause turbulance. Last edited by jeff061 : 09-16-2007 at 08:38 PM. |

Sure, off the field. On the field, TO has always played harder, more consistently. Don't you remember the days of Moss leaving the Vikings bench before halftime, when they were still running offensive plays? Or when he would just stand at the line of scrimmage after the snap, when he wasn't involved in the play? What better, Moss taking plays off or Owens leading league in drop passes?

Most games, 24-0 is enough to send a team in happy. I think the Pats are gonna be pissed that they left points on the table in two drives

So far, it looks like the Cowboys are the best in the NFC -- YEAH!!!
However, barring injury, I don't think anyone stops that Patriots this year. |

Wow.. that's interesting. They announced that Belichick's signed a contract through 2013. That's gonna piss off a LOT of people.

That was reported earlier today, as was the fact that the contract was agreed to well before all the spy stuff. The Pats have always been secretive about the coach's contract status, for whatever reason. They literally could have re-signed him months ago. It's a bad time to be announcing that you're extending the contract of a guy that has taken the week getting shitkicking from everyone, and cost you a first round pick and a combined total of $750K in fines.
And now everyone's going to believe that Kraft is giving Belichick a bonus to pay off the fine he's received.

Like Molson said, it was signed a long time ago. It probably wouldn't have been announced(or however it got out) at all if not for this situation and Kraft not wanting any rumours floating around.

That was one hell of a performance by Kitna. He really willed the Lions to victory there. He got knoced out of the game in the first quarter with a concussion. He watched the offense sputter with O'Sullivan at the helm, lobbies to get back into the game throughout the third quarter, comes back in the 4th and leads the Lions to victory with some decent passes and fearless running. I have never been a Kitna fan, but it's pretty hard not to like the guy after that. Very impressive. It was a pathetically sloppy game. 10 turnovers (5 for each team) and a ton of penalties. I was not convinced about Tavaris Jackson and remained unconvinced. He was awful. In fact, I was upset when he left the game with an injury in overtime and was replaced by Brooks Bollinger. Adrian Peterson is the real deal, but it seemed like the Vikings went away from him at spells. It made no sense.

I guess the Dolphins didn't want to pay Wes Welker. However, right now, I'd take a Wes Welker over 3 Ted Ginns.

Ugh. I'm not sure about that call. But they called a similar one in the first half, so I got no kick coming on that

Madden is freaking senile. Get the old fool off the broadcast right now. Hobbs clearly stopped Davis getting his hands up to allow the interception.
Loved the play earlier where he circled the wrong side of the line and was talking about the wrong tight end. If the Chargers are going to talk smack, it might be an idea to actually show up for the rematch. Pretty embarassing stuff. |

Obvious pass interference call... watch it again. Davis can't jump or get his hands up for the ball because the defender has his arm across his body.

That was one of the more obvious pass interference calls there is. He grabs the receivers jersey, pulls him close, and before the ball gets their swipes his arm away and keeps it from being able to be any use in catching the ball.

I didn't see it tas that bad, but it was similar to what the Chargers got called on in the first half, That's why I said they called it the same way, which is the most you can ask for in this league.

Wow. Chargers get a TD after this fumble on the kickoff, we could have something close to a game. Crap, I need to go to sleep, I have to wake up before 4am.

Good, I can go to sleep soon now. Last thing I wanted was to be teased into staying awake longer only to have it end up being a 10+ victory by NE still.

The Jets want the league to investigate further. Interesting. I mean, at this point, the hatred between the Jets and the Patriots offices can't get any worse.. but if there was anything else, I'd think with the amount of scrutiny it's gotten, it would have come out.

I just can't imagine the Pats would involve individual players in the cheating (like putting mics on defensive players). That's something that would pretty easily get out, with the roster turnover in the NFL. If that happened, they deserve whatever they get. Last edited by molson : 09-16-2007 at 09:57 PM. |

I didn't like that Kraft interview... and I didn't like the Pats' fan sign that said something like "Smile, LT, you're on candid camera!" I bet they wouldn't be so jokey if they lost their coach for a few games.
