This end game presentation needs more religious references. Who knew God was a Colts fan!

Well, that answers that question. No surprise, quite a few guys with good numbers including Peyton and I think his intangibles won him the MVP as much as his numbers tonight.

Yes, I realize the Ravens won a Super Bowl. I'm just saying there are certainly plently of old Balimtore Colts fans who are probably angry right now. |

I know, but they have no reason to be. Baltimore turned around and stole the Browns in the same way Indianapolis stole the Colts. |

I can't really fault the MVP selection. I would have been fine with Addai or Rhodes as well though. I think they all had an equally valid case.

Let me correct myself. It was the owners of both the Browns and Colts who were idiots, not the cities. I don't want it to sound like the city "stole" the team. My point was that Baltimore "acquired" a team much in the same way they lost the Colts, and there should not be such deep seeded anger towards the Colts

Baltimoreans weren't the happiest about how that went down, fwiw. But after getting snubbed by a couple rounds of expansion, that might have been the only way. Pretty sure they were completely behind *not* taking the Browns' old name and colors - that's one of the things folks are bitter about, is that the Colts' name/records/heritage went along to Indy rather than staying behind.

So I noticed Jim Gray managed to refrain from asking Peyton Manning how it feels not to be a failure anymore.
I was totally expecting that after his ambush of Pete Rose at the All-Star Game 5 1/2 years ago, too. |

Isray should have left the Colts logo and colors to Baltimore.
I'm not fan of Art Modell, but at least he did that for the city of Cleveland. |

Indianapolis Racers would have been a much cooler name for the team anyway...also tying it to Indy 500 fame, and sounding very similar to the Pacers.

Well, I think at the time when the Browns left, there were plans in place to bring back to Browns, so didn't he have to leave the name and color(s) to Cleveland? |

Meh. I think it would be lame to name your football team after a term from a totally different sport (especially racing), but that's just me. |

If they were the Racers, they could keep a pit crew on the sideline.
Anncr: Manning goes over to the sideline. Wow, he got a new pair of cleats and a clean jersey in record time! |

I always look at it the other way when I hear the God references. Clearly, God must hate the bears. (Kind of like how Lamar Hunt somehow got the Cheifs into the playoffs, but his powers wore off once the playoffs started. And Vince Lombardi, for whatever reason, didn't have the same powers from beyond the grave to help the Packers) Last edited by molson : 02-04-2007 at 09:49 PM. |

I have no problem with people mentioning their faith. It's called free speech.

Nobody's saying they should be locked up. I just wonder how the losing team feels when the winning team gives credit to God for their success. Maybe there's a god, maybe there isn't - but if he exists, I'm sure he cares less who wins the Super Bowl. Last edited by molson : 02-04-2007 at 09:57 PM. |
