oh I see, scouts inc. had him as a 5th round rounder. and then there's this little nugget: "He is not as quick-footed as he needs to be to compete for a starting spot. His lack of athletic ability makes him overrated. He’s a late pick only."

Awesome pick Vikings, just awesome.

Yeah, Ryan Cook is not an NFL prospect imo. Gabe Fulbright and Hank Baskett are the Lobos teams should be looking at.

If it makes you feel better, nfldraftscout.com (through USA Today) had him as a 6th rounder.

I guess that wouldn't make you feel better.

The NFL.com scouting report is awfully hot on Greg Jennings.. Maybe Ted Thompson isn't a complete idiot...

After reading more and more about Bunkley and watching his reaction to becoming an Eagle, I'm actually happy about that pick now. I still think we need to take a WR soon, but Bunkley should be an asset to the club.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who's surprised that Pope is still out there. What about Youboty and Marshall? I would love to see the Niners land either of them, but why are they still out there? Same with Ko Simpson and Darnell Bing?

Has there been any explanation from the Vikings as to why they made this pick?

I think I would shit my pants in excitement if Bing should fall to the 49ers

Definitely Benedict XVI, man.. John Paul is a bit injury prone, and they say he has a problem giving consistent effort..

Yes! Jeremy Trueblood!

(never heard of him)

I hope he's good, I really like the fact that the Bucs are adressing their offensive line. Guard and Tackle. Looks promising. But how much do we really know about lineman to know if they are any good or not without watching them play a lot?

What a fall for Eric Winston. At the beginning of his junioir year there was talk of him coming out early and being the #1 tackle in the draft. 2 years later, he may not be in the 2nd round.

Trueblood is a BC product. And if there's one type of football player BC has excelled at producing it's O-Linemen. And (just off the top of my head, no stats to back it up or anything) Trueblood was much better thought of by the Boston / BC covering media than either Dan Koppen or Damien Woody or any other BC player while they were at BC. The guy should be the real deal and a quite solid pro. He's HUGE.

And the Texans finally get their offensive lineman from the ACC.

Not Ferguson, not justice, but Winston

Is it Sunday?
It appears the Vikings think it is day 2 of the draft.

Does St. Louis know this is an NFL draft? I swear they are actively trying to pick players who will suck...damn

The Cards are looking pretty good so far Leinart, Lutui, and now Leonard Pope. Add those guys to those receivers, and Edge. Not too bad

This is just bad TV on ESPN2 right now.

They are not talking at all about what is going on in front of them. You would think they could at least stay with the draft and talk about the players and trades going on. It would make for better TV as a lot of the people watching do not know these players being selected in the third round.

Is NFL network doing any better?

There is the WR for the Dolphins. Hagan looked good when I saw Andrew Walter was throwing to him.

Espn coverage became useless in the early 2nd when they spent more time talking then they did actually showing the picks, etc. NFL network coverage wasn't much better. The first round is history, I want to know about the guys going here in the 3rd.

It really is frustrating. This is when I actually need the coverage most.

Do they know that there is a draft going on?

I had to do some serious internet searching trying to find out why the Steelers 2nd round pick just vanished. The anouncers had no idea the Steelers traded. And, this was only the 2nd round!!!

This is just bad TV. Why can't they just anounce the draft?

Was pulling for Simpson too...but looks like that is out the window with Smith being selected at #83. But, at least they addresses the top 2 needs, WR and S.

They got great value moving #64 for two 3rd rounders.

Curious where they go with #95...OLB type like McClover? Don't see them taking the QB/WR/PR/??? guy in the 3rd now after getting Holmes.

Guess I was wrong about not taking a PR/KR guy...

I guess the Steelers aren't as high on Nate Washington and/or Walter Young as they've led us to believe?

I think this WR will push Morgan and Washington for a spot, perhaps also push Morey for one as well on ST. I'm a bit perplexed, as I would have thought they would have taken another defensive player, and then tried to get a return type or slash guy, maybe a Jeremy Bloom/Reggie McNeal in the 4th

I have to say, I'm impressed with Corey Chavous on NFL Network... I mean, damn was he just rattling through players like a beast just now in their Day 1 wrap-up.
