So the idea is to keep rebuying until we know for sure what we're looking at?
Not agreeing or disagreeing, just trying to understand the logic of the game here.

I was a little unsure if the previous posts constituted "conversation" according to hoopsguy, but if no one objects, I'm going to open B7 in a couple of hours.

Sorry I went out of town and couldn't check the thread over the weekend. Looks like I didn't miss much though.

So far this game has been at a much more relaxed pace than last season's game. I don't think that is necessarily bad.

Options: Guess or Purchase New Turn. New Turn will cost $7500 from the $25,000 prize you would win for guessing (not out of the current group pot).

Not sure about the rest of you, but I have no idea what this could be. I vote for a new turn.

I'm for a new turn...but I'm firm on that's some sort of creature in a seat. By the top portion of the screen, I believe it's a plane...if that's a white cloud up there.

I say BrianD and I team up for C5 or we have a couple of people add up to 12 so we can get D6. We're close on this one I think.

The game looks very much like one a friend showed me. There were two characters with a main and a sidekick. It seemed like they were in an old beat-up plane. Something like Ratchet and Clank, or Banjoo and Kazooie, or one of those two-person titles.

I think we should do a couple in the middle as well, if possible. Since two 5's are going out, we are left with 5-3-3-1-1

We could go 5-3-1 (C4?) and 3-1 (E/G, 5/7?) and pick a couple that way, or if people want to continue to connect the open squares, we could do 5-3-3-1 to pick off something in the D column and just leave the single hanging.

And there's other possibilities as well, but those are the 2 I find most attractive.

Agree on C5, think that we wait to determine the D slot until we have the results of C5.

No harm in speculating in the thread what the game is, right? If so, that could help one of us potentially find some cover art for the game and validate/invalidate your guess.

BrianD - I felt like the graphics had kind of a "Sega Genesis" feel to me as well looking at this. I don't know either of the games you had mentioned, but I did a Google images search on "Ratchet & Clank" and it seemed kind of "close but no cigar" in terms of matching up with what we have seen so far.

That is Ratchet and Clank, isn't it? Are we going to have to figure out which R&C game this is?

I will answer that question generally. You may make a general guess, like the one you are proposing, and I may ask you to be more specific if necessary with no penalty (if I said be more specific, you would know you had the right series and need to figure out which one, but you wouldn't be committed to guessing for sure--in other words you could continue on without that counting as a guess and ending the game). In some cases, the general may be good enough.

So, if you were 100% positive that the game were, say Ratchet and Clank, you could guess that without penalty and I may say you win or I may say I'll need more than that. A third thing is I may say no it isn't and that would count as a guess, ending the game. I would only do that if it was not a Ratchet and Clank game, not if you just weren't specific enough.

Hope that clears it up. Basically, if you are confident, don't let be unsure of the specificness requirement deter you from guessing.

I think opening C4 or D5 should give us the rest of the face of what looks like Ratchet. Let's use up this turn before we make our R&C guess.

We are waiting on someone to state what combo of dice to use and those players to agree, or a guess to be made (you can guess any time if you'd like to).

As far as I can tell, we can combine all (and discard hoopsguy's 1) for a 12 and open c4 or d5. If that's what the plan is, I'll confirm in advance of being willing to do that.

At the same time, I don't really see why we should wait with guessing if it is so obvious to half of us (me not included) what game (series?) this is.

Discarding hoopsguy's roll since he cannot be paired with anyone, that leaves us at the decision to guess now or buy another roll for $5,000 more. Guessing correctly now wins $20,000. Buying another roll would make the correct guess eventually worth only $15,000. (I suddenly thought I may have mistakenly said guessing now is worth 17.5k earlier, but it is actually worth 20k. The progression is 25, 20, 15, 7.5, 0). Guessing now and missing means this puzzle nets you $0.

Agreed, lets put in the guess and see if there is further clarification needed. I'm pretty sure (based on looking at the Google images earlier this week) that this is a R&C game. But since I have not played any of them I would not have any insight into which one it might be.
