It's all moot anyway. Thompson's complete abortion of an offensive line has doomed this team. Guess I better buck up for another season of how dumb GB was not to keep Favre - never mind the complete lack of OL on this team.

Looks like a safety. Round 1 goes to Favre. ESPN should be just fantastic tomorrow.

They had a great punt. The odds were that the ball would go in the end zone and they'd get a net 20 on the change. The odds were overwhelming they'd pick up the first down and eat up 3:00+ off the clock. Again, against winning teams, playing like that will cost you games.

He was down and it's two points instead. *shrug* Kind of a lose-lose but giving the Vikes two points is better than being on the one yard line.

Rodgers needs to get rid of the ball in some way or another.. He is holding the ball way too long. The Vikings seemed to have adjusted real well since the first two drives of the game for the Packers. Not sure what happened but I'm sure a lot of it can be accounted for the crazy DL of the Vikes. 3.5 sacks for Jared Allen. Hah.

The Vikings still have some tough games ahead of them but 4-0 is damn nice to see. I was pumped up all day long at work today which of course made my day last forever.

BTW thank you KC for giving us Allen for a 1st. the Vikes have spent numerous 1st rounders over the year drafting DE busts, and you give us the best young one in the league keeping us from drafting another. ty

Well if their defense wasnt playing well Id likely agree. At that point seemed hard to believe Green Bay could score twice in less than 10 min.

More later as I need to head out for a bit,but there were 15 taunting penalties called last year that i can find, 2 so far this year according to foxsports, but googling the taunting penalty turns up countless articles about the controversy over the rule over the last 15 years, going back to the throat slash gesture in the late 90s. McNabb picking up the giants phone after a run last year led him to go out of bounds on their sideline, googling various teams and taunting turn up lots of stories about fines and instances where taunting was called on every team(one of the panthers rookies picked up a taunting call in the preseason, whoops).

I was hoping I could just find a stat tracking the totals somewhere, but that seems more difficult than expected.

Anyway, taunting has been a huge issue many many different times over the last decade, I was just stunned to see you say you'd only seen it called twice, like it was some new thing that only screws over your team.

I'm not a Viking or a Packer fan. I don't see how this is currently screwing over my team. My team won 35-0 this week. Anyways...I stand by my memory. I hear you that it has happened in games here and there, talked about, etc...but I haven't see it happen much...a least in recent memory.

The Vikings are a scary team right now. AP wasn't good enough to win a Super Bowl for them last year. Favre won't be good enough to win them a Super Bowl this year. The combination of the two might give them a chance.

Nah, not even close. The big time teams would crush these guys. The Packers play right into the strength of the Vikes. These guys needed a Kickoff return for a TD and a hail mary with 2 seconds left to beat the 49ers last week. Top tier teams like the Colts, Giants, etc would take them down handily IMO.

Thank you Vikings defense, pretty decent FF comeback from being 50 down before the late game yesterday (Hines Ward, Antonio Gates and now MIN defense). I feel like I should send a little something to Chad Clifton also.

Yeah them rivalry games with great QBs always play into the Vikings strengths.

If I have to hear one more comparison between Favre and Montana I'm going to puke. This guy couldn't hold Montana's jock strap.

You talk about big plays being the difference in that game when there was even a bigger play that turned the momentum around big time... a field goal blocked and returned for a touchdown. Seriously, if it weren't for that I doubt that game is close.

Obviously though, the 9ers are a great team and will easily win the West. If Crabtree decides to sign with the 9ers in the next week, maybe he can make a nice impact in the second half of the season and help the Niners big time...but maybe he won't make as big of an impact as he thinks he would.. lol

The Kickoff returned for TD in the second half was just as big of a momentum turner IMO. The Niners had 1 big/good bounce. The Vikes had two. Even the so called "experts" have mentioned this...albiet under their breathe between choking on Favre's nutsack.

Ironically enough, this loss has more than cemented the idea that going with Rodgers was the right call. Now, if GB can just find a decent offensive tackle in the next two weeks ....

I just turned the game on (just got in from work) and saw one hell of a throw by Rodgers.

Has the MNF crew mentioned that Favre used to play for the Packers? Interesting bit of trivia there.

I'd never heard the unabated to the quarterback penalty before. Mostly because I don't watch that many games all the way through, really. Had to google it. Interesting stuff.

Way to overreact on one game.

The Vikings have a great DL. They have a solid running game. They have a QB who can make plays. They have some dynamic special teams players. They have a shot at going deep in the playoffs.

As for the Niners game, it's true the Vikings needed a last second pass and a kickoff return for the win. It's also true they outgained the Niners by over 100 yards, had more first downs, were 10-20 on third downs and held the Niners to 0-11 on third down, and the Niners had a blocked FG return for a TD (which is far rarer than a KO return for a TD).

The Vikings are a team to be dealt with this year.

As that drive ended, Rodgers last completed pass put the score of my game 112.42 to 111.75 my favor. I have Crosby. Three incompletions, a FG for me and a Vikings recovery and I get the win. Whew.

Yup. I was thinking the same thing. It'll be like a few years ago back when they'd rationalize Vince Young by saying "Vince Young isn't a guy you can measure through stats. He just wins."

Only, worse, because it's Favre. But I hadn't heard that in a while, so I wanted to bring it back.

If their TE can catch a wide open pass in the endzone, it's tied right now. If you are going to go on fourth down - do it consistently and it's not a bad play.

The fact that GB was within an onside kick of potentially tying this game tells me there's no way Brad Childress takes the Vikings anywhere (esp against a good team). They have the talent, but their coach is holding them back.

good game, although AD didn't do much, I was looking forward to him running for 140 and 3 tds. oh well, guess the Pack had a good game plan in containing him and letting Favre crash and burn. Oh ...Wait... that didn't work out to good for ya did it Green Bay?

lol. It was a good thought at the gameplan, but nope didn't work.

Aparently the players on the Packers special teams forgot that one thing they start teaching you in pee-wee football.

Catch the ball at it's highest point. Nice play by Rice though...or whoever that guy was on the Vikings.
