Fairdale Kings has posted on OS that he already has the problem solved. Solving it took a few hours, so the rosters might be delayed a day or so.

Ditto. I stopped at Walmart, Circuit City, and Target on the way home. All 3 had it, but they all said they couldn't sell it until the 17th. I'm done hunting. The 17th will be here soon. |

That's basically my situation. IMO, the supersim feature is the biggest change they've made, ever. This is the first time in 4 years that I haven't pre-ordered. My favourite online store (Tronixweb) has discontinued the Xbox section, and I'd have to pay 55 € (75 $) on videogamesplus.ca to buy a game that costs 39.95 $ (29 €) in the US. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't feel right. Although I'm an NCAA Football nuts, I'm gonna hold off for now, and hear some impressions. Obviously, if I get a PS3 (no imports on 360, even modded ones), I'd get NCAA 08 right away. But that's not gonna happen soon. |

I tried Circuit City, Target, Wal-Mart, and Toy's R Us tonight with no luck. I was pretty close at TRU cause the lady there didn't know what she was doing but she couldn't find it in their inventory... Looking forward to Tuesday after reading the impression on OS.

My fellow Jerseyite (I think that's what we're called...) I'm from Holmdel. Have you ever heard of Game Crazy? I'm pretty sure that's what it's called, but it's in Airport Plaza in Hazlet. They've ALWAYS had games a week in advance, so if I were you I'd give them a call or if you have time, take a trip over there to check it out. |

I went out hunting at Target, Wal-Mart, and Hastings. I just asked an employee if they had it in, and they all said that it comes out Tuesday. HOwever, I called Blockbuster and they said that, after checking their computer, it came out today, but they didn't get the shipment in yet. So, maybe I'll get it from them tomorrow if they get a Sat. shipment.

I actually tried to go there tonight but they were already closed. A poster on OperationSports said he got an early copy there. I am thinking about going tomorrow morning. The fact that it is less than 10 minutes from my apartment doesn't hurt. Last edited by Ironhead : 07-13-2007 at 09:25 PM. |

If you do, and you find it, please post here. I'm kinda busy tomorrow but I could take a ride out later in the day or Sunday morning. Thanks!

Some sweet highlights on EAsportsworld. All 360 though
A lot of them are interceptions, which has usually been mentioned as the most serious gameplay issue with Sliders on default. |

Just called my local store and they have copies. Going to go pick one up now.
EDIT: Scored. Now I actually have to get a 360 to play it. Last edited by Ironhead : 07-14-2007 at 09:52 AM. |

Same here. That was an interesting place. Were there a pack of kids debating Magic cards when you were there? Judging by their complexion, I don't think they leave that place much. Noticed that my "receipt" was just a CC slip showing the amount paid, with no mention of it being for NCAA 08. No paper trail to get busted, I guess. |

I know quite a few people (myself included with the demo) who were/are having trouble throwing lob passes. According to the EA community rep's posts on OS, the producers have taken out lead passing. Now, you have to tap the button and press up on the L stick to throw a lob pass instead of a bullet.

It had a very "hole in the wall" kinda feel to it, straight down to the pawn shop looking neon sign out front. Very dark inside. No one else was there when I went in this morning. Probably going to go to Circuit City around 10 AM when the store opens. |

Agree on the shadiness of that place. Good to know though in case I ever want another game early. Oh, wear a shirt that says "Ironhead" and I'll say hi.

Got Sneaky
I pre-ordered from Best Buy on-line and thought I would try and snake my copy early. I called and lied, saying I received my confirmation Email that it was ready for pick-up. I then asked innocently "So you can get the Pre-Order before release?"
She was confused and put me on hold to go check. Came back and said they just got the shipment in, and since I received my Pick-up notice they would have it ready for me first thing tomorrow Morning.....only saving 2 Days, but I have a whole Day to play....woohoo! I know you need to take the email in to get it, but since I have ordered from then before and save all that stuff, some simple editing on an old order confirmation and I will be set Last edited by BYU 14 : 07-14-2007 at 03:07 PM. |

This uploading of videos to EA's site through the game could really make interesting dynasty threads.
I've been watching many of them today. Last edited by MizzouRah : 07-14-2007 at 04:52 PM. |

Ya know, this isn't going to have a huge impact on the game. I think once I get used to it, I'll be ok. But WTF EA? Of all the things to change, they change something that was never broke? It's simple, tap for a lob, hold for a bullet. . . it has never been a difficult thing to grasp. Strange, strage, strange freakin decision. |

I think it was already mentioned, but it's all about pressure sensitivity with regards to the lob/bullet pass. Tough to get used to indeed, but I got it to work yesterday (in the demo).

I think once I get the buttons down on this game it is going to be a lot of fun. Just played about a 2 quarters of a Georgia v Georgia Tech game. The CPU was able to string together a couple of nice 8+ play drives using a good mix of run and pass.
I am really digging the player interaction and the gang tackling. As a whole this is leaps and bounds above anything on the older consoles. Last edited by Ironhead : 07-15-2007 at 11:18 AM. |

I'm working out of town this week and staying at a relatives house. I was just going to hold out on the game until Thursday night, but I think I am going to have to bring the 360 down there with me and hope I can get the game at the Wal-Mart on Tuesday morning. The town is 6,500 people and I think Wal-Mart may be the only place to buy games unless Movie Gallery sells them.

I am going to do one eventually, but I am going to name the rosters myself so it will probably be a couple of weeks from now. I also need to work some kinks out of my capture card. It is not quite capturing everything up to snuff right now. |

My hunt is over. I struck out again. I just went to GameStop, paid off the rest of my preorder, and resigned myself to going back tomorrow night right before midnight to pick it up.
I'm going to be dead at work on Tuesday, because I don't know for how long this game will keep me up tomorrow night.

Great video!
I really want this friggin game.. and NOW!! I might just name the Mizzou rosters and then go from there. Seems like there isn't going to be much tweaking to do besides putting the game on AA defaults and going. A dynasty thread just might be in my future! |

Many people in the impressions thread have said that the game is "significantly" more refined and better looking than the demo.

What he said. I see that the pricing is $60 for the next gen, $50 for PS2, and $40 for XBox. Oh, and Meijer (a regional Target/Wal-Mart type store) is running a deal with $10 off Madden if you buy NCAA.

FWIW, there are PS2 specific and Xbox specific impression threads over at OS in the NCAA 08 forum. Not many people have the current gen versions yet, so there are only about 30 posts in each of those threads.

Some impressions from the PS2 thread:
not much different. more fluid gang tackling, not to the extent of the next gens though. the few screens I've run actually have linemen who block defenders which is nice. can;t change control layout back to 06 like last year, which is taking some getting used to. "motivation" is a new thing that increases attributes to groups on the team. but the impact players don't seem to change. I haven't gone back to look at 07 but the rosters only have room for 70 players i thought it was 75 last year. not sure. playbooks are basically the same. there are plays with automatic motion which is a nice touch leading to some WR sweeps off of the snap and such. Quote:
appears the same as next gen, dont hold me to that. but there is preseason recruiting, player promises, medical redshirts, summer training. I'll get into it once i finish my first dynasty year. and i stand corrected about the in game impact players. I made a sack with a DT and the next play he appeared with a pulsing ring. the impact players now have stars but it was still different than normal.
