I have been playing this game for a long time. I can't remember the last time the best team coming out of the draft won a championship.

Seriously, this game more about luck than anything else. There is some skill involved, but luck is a major factor.

Have fun finishing in 2nd place, Danny.

you technically have 12 hours to make your pick and we are so far ahead of schedule that I don't think it should be an issue for anyone if you take longer. Just check the site when you get a chance to see if you are up.

JAG- Spleen and I have that deal worked out for his current pick, however, because of the 12 hour waiting period you will need to go in and commissioner pass it.

I can still do that also but would rather have JAG do it. I can't imagine anyone has an issue with the deal so if he doesnt do it in a reasonable amount of time I'll pass it to keep things moving.

Done. Seems like a very solid deal for spleen to only slide back a few and pick up a 4th.

No kidding- I don't see anyone on the board that jumps out to me enough to give up my next pick for but that's just me

I think it is a great deal in the short term for Spleen. I have 2 4th rounders so it doesnt hurt to bad.

In the long term I get Luck who I can keep for 2 seasons then either trade, or trade Eli and probably get a nice return on both of them.

I didn't feel like there was anyone on the board at this point worth enough to not make that investment, and I wasn't sure Luck would fall to me so I wanted to grab him.

Well, I've sorted out my upcoming 2 picks which means JAG will somehow pick my top 3 players (despite only having one pick) and I will be left going "well, crap- now what am I going to do"

No.

But, in all seriousness, if the top person on my list doesn't go at 3.9, I'd accept a trade of 3.10/4.3 for 3.12/4.1 and an upgrade later in the draft, say, in round 8. To me, there's one player that fits my team quite well out there and I could move back in 4 without worrying too much.

Offer is still on the table for either spleen1015 and I'd even entertain it for JAG.

I thought about it a lot yesterday. Fitzpatrick is not a good #1 QB. I've planned on taking Manning in the 3rd round from the beginning. I think he's going to be the Peyton of old. So, I don't want to lose the opportunity to get him.

I'm happy as I wanted Brown here as I needed a second solid starting RB and I'm hoping that's him.

That took longer than it should have but it was because of the wealth of options and having to squeeze it in around work more than anything. At WR, there are still a lot of quality options on the board and I went with the highest in the range rather some of the higher potential, lower floor guys as I think some of them will be there at my next pick and I've already got a couple of lower floor receivers with Wallace holding out and Austin fragile as can be.

reported Wallace will be back by end of camp.

lloyd was a really nice pick, I can see a Moss 2.0 situation.

Since it's a long time before it gets around to either of us again and no one is listening, JAG, what was the top WR you were looking at?

I think Lloyd was my best value pick of the draft (though some may say that's not saying much ). I had him ahead of about 7-8 WRs taken before him.

I was annoyed that you took him as he was #1 on my WR list and I could have had both him and my #1 RB on the board if not for you and those meddling kids and dog

So, unless I'm crazy, there's no TE rule still this year, right? There's just a big run on TEs because people think they're better than the WRs out there?

No TE rule. There's still a spot you can either start a WR or TE.

The other guy I was thinking of picking was Aaron Hernandez. I think he's pretty likely to put up WR2 level production. I would've liked to have had him on the team, but there was no other QB out there I felt as decent about as a backup.

Oh well, can't get every good player out there.

Happy to pick up Finley in this spot. If for no other reason then he can't put up 3 TD game against me this year.

The last 4 picks have really ripped into my list. Time to start a new one for my next set of picks.

I actually preferred Floyd to Heyward-Bey but took a chance I could get both. Smith, Hillis, and Jennings all were at or near the top of my RB chart.

We're into the crapshoot portion of the RB draft: pick and hope for an injury or some sort of status change (new starter, etc). He's as good as any backup and he's behind a holdout who is fragile.

Same. Been kicking it around for a while but Burleson there can limit the chances. High, high potential according to all training camp reports but isn't that something like in baseball where every veteran is always in the best shape of his life

Got drug into a conference call so it took a while to pick. I really like Freeman to bounce back but I was really tempted by a non-QB as there's the whole "I have Drew Brees" thing. But no one is indestructible and I don't know how NO is going to be affected by the bounty thing and no coach.
