Well I challenged MizzouRah to a game but he immediately quit NHL 08 and then went offline. Clearly he fears the power of the might Coyotes.

NHL 08 has brutal disc problems I think. I've only ever had a couple disc read errors since getting my 360 back in October, and they were both while playing NHL 08. Also, the 360 is about twice as loud while playing NHL 08 as compared to any other game.

Agreed. One thing that has helped me greatly reduce these (possibly eliminate them, because I don't remember having one in a while) is to not have the disk in the system when it starts, or at least take out the game when the system starts, then put it back in when you get to the home screen.

Yeah Turner I do that already, this will be my 3rd copy.

Sad thing is, both copies work fine in my neighbors 360.

Nah, I wouldn't say that at all. That first game was very close, and I just held on for the win. The second game, I got a little lucky on a couple of breakaways. I bet our third game will be much closer than that one.

New game, so far so good. Played two games, no issues so far and the DVD looks good still, no scratches so far.

As I get older I feel like I jump the gun too often with video games. NHL 08 is no exception...

Now that I've learned how to play defense somewhat, this game amazes me much like MLB The Show does you ps3 owners.

This game feels so much like watching a real hockey game, it's errie. I take my game of the year back, it's NHL 08. Power plays feel like power plays, goals feel "earned" and when you get a cheap goal you say, "I'll take that" because you know the CPU has something for you at any time.

I won 3 straight games and thought I was getting "too good" laugh... just got smoked two games in a row and I'm loving it.

It's one of those games that when you get a DDE, you feel like crying.

The shots were misleading. I didn't have the best opportunities, just peppered the net. Biron was stellar as hell. You played well, and I was sweating in OT, especially the 3 on 3.

I beat Galaxy 5-2 thanks to an Ilya hat trick but it was tied going into the third. Another close contest where the opposing goalie was rock solid for the most part.

Finish the night with a hard fought 2-0 W vs the Sabres. Scored on the first shift on a deflection that found White wide open to bang it home and then Kovalchuck scored a bad goal Miller should've had. Galaxy had some good opportunities, Lethonen just played stellar finally

Yeah. What was with that one goal I "scored"? That was cheap (not by me or you, but just in general how it happened).

One thing I've noticed is the goalie AI (in general) has no awareness at the worst times. I was playing my dynasty against NYI the other day, shot it from about center ice, and DiPetrino allowed it in. He closed his legs together to stop it, but it just slid right pass him once he closed his legs. It was a "sliding" puck, so it should of stopped. I was baffled at it.

I like the Sabres. Are line changes auto (I kept thinking I had to change them) and are shots auto (does that matter). I hate you can't adjust your style line-by-line (behind the net, crash the boards, ect). Max is fast! I was hoping Vanek would step it up.

To note, my laptop is going into the shop tomorrow. I don't know how long. So you'll have to contact me via PM or what not to get information. Also, I don't do chat/ voice mail due to a speech impediment (basically, it's hard to understand me unless you are use to me). Just don't take it personal.

I tend to not mic up during sports games anyway because I get too pissed off during them sadly, ha.

Yeah he was peppering Biron the entire time. For the most part I kept his shots either at the point or at a bad angle. I tried to play off of his mistakes and it worked out because my two goals came off of turnovers of his. But I just couldn't put it away in OT.

I might be.

Earlier Turner and I played.

Game one I won 4-3, he battled back from a 3-0 defecit and almost pulled it out late. Game two he won 3-0 scoring two goals in succession and adding a third late. He made adjustments, I didn't so I'll need to fix that next time we play.

I just was more patient. That goal with 59 seconds left in the game, the powerplay at the end of OT, ect. Ilya is too much trouble for me. I'm still having trouble doing the dekes though. When you do them, does the puck deke according to the direction you move the thumbstick?

Yeah, that first game was a tough one. I almost got a second goal with the goalie pulled at the end, but you held strong. That second game was a very tight checking game, but I just got lucky on my couple of chances. I'm sure that the third game will be a close one as well.

Sorry Mizzour, showed you were playing a dynasty. Plus, I had to run for a little while.

Scott and I just played a good game. Very tight and pretty even. Not a lot of great scoring chances by each team. Scoreless, went to the shoot-out (for some reason, I hate the shoot-out in an online league). He won 1-0.

Yeah it was a good game...I have to learn to aim my shots better. Every shot I took was right in your goalie's chest. I was lucky enough to manage to sneak one in during the shootout though. This game is quite fun online.
