I dumped a chick via email once. I guess it was like "texting" now (late 90s).

Fun transaction log from the Arena Football League. Apparently, the San Jose SaberCats processed all of these transactions in a single day.

One of the few good things about summer (or at least, when it gets very warm outside) is that the fruit selection at the supermarket changes. Now peaches are plentiful and affordable, pears are in stock and so are cherries. Good timing too, I was getting sick of apples and grapes.

I always liked Julia Stiles, especially in the movie O.

Yeah, maybe a little much into her. Another lesson learned I guess.
Trying to arrange a way to give her stuff back is like pulling teeth. I might just say screw it and throw it away. I text her 3 hours ago about it and I still haven't got a firm commitment for something that takes 10 minutes.

Pretty cool, although part of the fun (once you've done it) is watching all the other first-timers. Pretty much turns everybody, regardless of age, into a little kid with a new toy. The important thing is that, at least here, the drinks taste right. A fountain cherry Coke tastes like it's supposed to (and I'm picky), not like that abomination they put in bottles & label as cherry coke.

Box her stuff up nicely. Go get a box from Uhaul or somewhere and put everything in it & seal it with packing tape. But first, go to the store & buy a pair of panties that are too small for her & wash them so they look worn, but clean. Make sure it's a pair she would notice was not her own. |

Just finished watching Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition. What a horrible, horrible show. You'd think for an hour long show that covers one person's year long weight loss, they would have spent some time on food and exercise, but they gloss over it so that we can have super dramatic weigh ins and goal awards (which were still given when she failed the goal). I ended up fast forwarding through much of the show. Won't be watching that again.

I really do not enjoy being one of the only single people at a wedding. Doubly so when the wedding is for a member of my family.
Also, parents who take naps when their 4 year old children do should not complain when people leave without saying goodbye. Especially when those people have had MUCH longer days than the parents in question. /tk

I went stag to a wedding a couple years back. Sat next to my buddie's fiance. Bridesmaid was into me and thought I was there with aforementioned fiance. Bridesmaid proceeded over the next several weeks to launch vicious personal attacks at fiance. Women be crazy.
That said, yeah, there are always people at weddings looking to find someone. Just got to have an open mind, simply showing up single opens the door some. Uh, just don't act all crazy jealous like . |

So a FOFC related question: despite having no interest in the series a week ago, thanks to there being nothing else good on these days, I'm fully caught up on Game of Thrones and loving it. Is the thread on here spoiler-free in terms of alluding to things in the books that HBO viewers haven't seen yet?

I would say there are light spoilers as relates to future books (some people have made mention of future characters, for example). I don't believe anyone made any mention of anything majorly spoiling unless it was in spoiler tags, but if you want to be completely spoiler-free, I would say you should avoid it. |

People have tried to keep the thread for the TV show spoiler-free and have used the spoiler tag frequently, but they still let things slip out and if you want to keep everything a total surprise, avoid the thread. As Logan said, people do talk about characters taking on more or less of a role in future books. At the rate that characters die in this series, just mentioning that a character is still around later on is itself a spoiler. Also, avoid any articles and reviews about the show. They've been mildly filled with spoilers as well. |

Yeah, I stopped going in because people couldn't really help themselves. Should probably be two threads, but I don't care enough to start another one.

That response in and of itself is a spoiler you realize sabotai . I think the TV show thread is really very good about not spoiling any future events, although true...there is some general talk about how the portrayal of characters in the TV might affect or help setup their future roles (in a very general spoiler-free way) in future books. So someone will say "Man...when they had Person X do ABC it really gave me a better appreciation for Person X's character as it's more fully revealed in the last book." No discussion of the reveal of the character or how it's accomplished or anything (that is outside of spoiler tags), but just in general in the sense that knowing that Person X is going to be around in future books and playing a role could be considered a spoiler. Or "Man they're really minimizing Person Y. Person Y plays a bigger role moving forward - wonder how that is going to work." No discussion of what the role is (outside of spoiler tags), but just knowing they're playing a bigger role later could be considered a spoiler.

Nah, it's fine. Most people seemed to be enjoying the discussion the way it was - I felt no need to argue you all should cater to the minority.

The show itself is a fairly strong spoiler. If you think you're interested in the books, I wouldn't watch it at all until you'd read them all.

I'm thoroughly disgusted right now. I just went into the bathroom here at the office (shared for the floor) for a #1 and it smelled REALLY bad. Look over at the stall and notice something on the floor. Swing the door open...yep...somebody literally...MISSED THE TOILET. Like...a lil bit on the toilet seat and then more on the floor.
How does that happen!?!?!? Do people take their pants down as they're standing beside the toilet and then move over it? I don't get it. WTF. Jeezus. Can't use that bathroom for a couple weeks now...I'm scarred. |
